Amazon is in a tough spot in terms of their long term growth. First world manufacturers are not going to take the abuse that Walmart heaped upon them in the '90's so one of the few options for super cheap products is going to be China. Amazon is pursuing various types of "branding" (their own in-house products)or any other methods to keep prices down and for products they can completely control. It'll be tough to find non Chinese products being sold by them. Speaking of which, my new Fenix LD09 has a malfunctioning switch. Go figure. V.

A couple of years ago I tried to find a US-produced stainless mug for my wife. We're talking about an extruded chunk of metal, that's all, yet I couldn't find a US-produced one. We can't produce extrusions? Sure we can, but it's CHEAPER to let the ChiComs do it. Now, that's just sad. This has to stop. The American people have to wean themselves off of these ultra-cheap goods. We have be willing to- literally- pay the price of having goods produced in America- using American materials- and made by American workers.

Yeah 18 and 20V batteries wouldn’t last in a chainsaw anyway. Shame but you can’t win them all.

Boss, you nailed it. Goods nowadays are artificially cheap, and we do need to wean off them and pay the normal rate. For giggles, I’ve looked at Sears catalogs from the 30’s, 60’s etc and compared goods (adjusted for inflation). American-made goods are “expensive” relative to Chinese crap today... but adjusted for inflation, they are cheaper now than in the past. Buy once, cry once. I just ordered a custom made range bag from WRB in Texas (they make some bags for LaRue as well). Unbelievably great quality, and downright affordable. Yes, the bag is probably $50 more than ChiCom... but it’s worth every penny of that.

Get out the popcorn. The reason products available to you and me and Para are mostly made in China is the price the American sellers see VS the price of an American produced product. You may be willing to pay more for an American made product. But if a large number of Americans are not so willing then the seller will not sell enough to make a profit. He is not pro Chinese or anti American. He just needs to turn a profit. You are a true Patriot Para, but you are in a very small Minority. A gun in the hand is worth more than ten policemen on the phone. The American Revolution was carried out by a group of gun toting religious zealots.

Why in the world are you stating the obvious and re-stating things which have already been said in this thread? What's the point? You've told me nothing. You can be my guest to have the attitude of "don't even try", but don't expect me to have the same.

I hate that I go to Amazon for so many things, and I wish they'd put a country of origin note in the description on every item they sell. (I'm sure they won't.) I did, however, find the note on a pack I was looking to buy: China. Bonus: I just saved myself some money, and prevented a few American dollars from heading to China. On some items they used to tell you in the features and description section. Though I have not seen it listed for any item in quite some time. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. Today I just sourced the electric fans for the new steer car build (pictured in this thread here). When we did the other build last summer, our ops manager sourced Chicom fans that cost about $150. For the new build, I was ready to have some custom one’s built from a place in NJ for $1400, and they looked fantastic. Heavy duty and professionally built. Then the salesman started into a TDS rant about Covid-19, so I hung up and ordered Flex-a-Lite fans, made in USA I’m told, for $585. I’m paying almost four times more to get USA built fans, and I’m happy about it. You know why? Yes, it’s nice to not do business with the PRC, but it’s even better to have quality. I’m willing to pay the price for good quality built, USA made products. I can’t be alone. So I just bought a Colt 14" soft padded handgun case from a company out of Montana. Opened up the case and there it was, a Made in China tag. I sent a nice email to the company in Montana as well as Colt.com with my disgust. Waiting on replies, will update. Then I logged into SigForum and saw this. Coincidence? Nope, we all feel this way and I'm glad Para spoke out on the mainpage. Thanks boss. ___________________________ He looked like an accountant or a serial-killer type. Yeah, I think the world of Bill Geissele and his rifle parts, especially his triggers. All of that is made in the US, of course. So, I suppose I have no right to complain when I order a trigger and receive it with a complimentary Geissele ball cap and it has a Made in China label. This just seems wrong to me and this is reinforced when I order from other companies. I love Blue Force Gear slings. Every using AR15 I own (and my SCAR 17S) wears Blue Force Gear slings. Well, they, too, send swag to their customers, but the ball cap sent to me by Blue Force has a tag that says Made in America. If you're going to buy stuff to give to your customers free, so that it is a loss for you from the beginning, why not do it right? You don't have to send me this stuff. I just want the triggers and the slings, and very happy to have them. If you're going to send swag, make it Made in the US or I say- respectfully- you shouldn't bother. The Blue Force Gear cap, well I put that into the emergency kit I keep in my truck. The Geissele cap is in a closet somewhere. It's the principle of the thing.

David, you hang on to that one, sir. And when I can find a good American-made one, I'll get us each one. Politicians seem to have forgotten that they work for us, not the other way around. — — — — — — — — — — — — God bless America.
