Funny how you always assume I'm saying something that I'm not. My words are exactly what I say. Feel free to quote them whenever you wish, instead of simply telling me (and others) what I was "really" saying. I typed those words because that is a little thing called "reality". Plenty of manufacturers lie or mislead consumers about exactly what it is they're buying. Take Patriot Safe for example. What I'm suggesting people do is simply not take their word for it. I'm sure you think that's horrible. If you call a manufacturer and they say something, well by golly, you should just take their word! The person answering the phone probably knows everything anyway, which is why they're answering the phone and not building the product, designing it, doing the hiring, or sourcing the materials. I know automobile manufacturers are required to disclose the percentage of their products made outside the US as well as the countries of origin. This allows consumers to know exactly what they are buying and where it came from. Why I say what I said is from a thing called "experience". It's when I show up with a safe purchased from a third party retailer, purchased by a Union guy with all of the signs in his yard. Then he finds out his safe came from Mexico AFTER he bought it. The salesman said it was US made! I'm suggesting if this is important that you do your own research so that you're not mislead. And that suggestion comes from the hundreds of people I have encountered, in real life, that didn't do so and were ultimately disappointed after the fact. But please. After all this, tell me what I really mean. I'm not capable of typing clearly apparently. Maybe I'm speaking in code, and this is some sort of way to bash or hate somebody.

This isn't about safes. This is about your iconoclastic bend and the smirk I can hear in your posts. You're just so far above it all. Silly people. They think they know something or they think they'll attempt something, but you'll show them the folly of their ways. You come into a thread I created with the best of intent, and you tell us that even trying is pointless. Research? Bah! Useless! "You'll quickly find that there's nothing that's 100% US made." Those are your own words. Don't try to tell me that the your intent with that is pure. You're just taking a crowbar to this thread, and that's all. The message? We're silly for even thinking that we can buy American, and you're going to straighten out we fools. But, let's couch it in terms of safes only, and in terms of your experience. That makes it OK. I guess.

I didn't say trying is pointless, and quite the opposite. I suggested researching as much as possible. So you're 100% wrong here, again. Next:
And just like the leftist media, you conveniently left out the remaining context. Why is that? Why do you cherry pick specific words and phrases while ignoring the comment in its entirety? The full quote was: "You'll quickly find that there's nothing that's 100% US made. In fact, it's almost impossible to build something as simple as a safe with 100% US sourced parts. " It's pretty clear that my entire example within that post was specifically about safes. That was a result of several people mentioning safes in this very thread. That's two for two. So help me understand. You suggest people ask where their products are coming from, and that's good. Yet I suggest people research further to verify the veracity of that claim, and that's bad? Do I understand you correctly? Because I agree with you 100%. I really would like to know where items come from. I'm just not willing to take somebody's word because I have seen many examples of where that word alone can not be trusted. Patriot Safe said their safes were US made. Many people took their word for it. How did that play out? I'm not trying to start trouble, but I'm not going to sit idly by while you explain to me and the world what I "really said", what I "really meant" and "what you hear" when you read what I type, because you're dead wrong.

Look, you've derailed my thread sufficiently. Would you mind if I and others here got back to what we're trying to do?

I've been trying to notice the Made In label more and more lately. making choices where I can and even going without the purchase if not needed. Recently upgraded a stereo system and found a 2 channel amp that fit my system perfectly, Bel Canto C5i is the model and made in USA. and sounds amazing!

Oh, no, forget about it. There's a phillips head screw on the back at the bottom and it was made in China, or the guy who assembled the component once ate Chinese food, or his mother owned a set of china dinnerware, or some such shit. All I know is that it's IMPOSSIBLE to buy 100% AMERICAN. IMPOSSIBLE He was probably an illegal alien anyway, so...

Whatever the nice lady on the customer service line says is true. Don't do your homework. Don't verify anything. Nobody would ever lie to you about these things. https://www.manufacturing.net/...madeinamerica-claims

Buyer beware. At least some manufacturers are a bit more honest as they advertise "Made in the US, with globally sourced parts".

I want you to leave this thread alone. Yeah, I get it- you don't give a fuck about my wishes, even though I made it clear that your remarks in this thread are unwelcome. You don't care about that, so here you are again. I want you to stop derailing my thread. I'm not asking. Now, go ahead and show me AGAIN how little respect you have for the wishes of the owner of this forum. This forum exists only as your personal bouncy house anyway.

Yes, one of the things I so admire about Toyota over all, the amount of mexican and chi com parts in them is so minimal its nearly laughable. Toyotas 2 large warehouses here in America are flat loaded for all their vehicles with US and Canadian parts.

Not to derail Para’s thread, but if you can’t buy American, then please get Canadian/Mexican/German/Japanese/Nicaraguan/Israeli/Kenyan Etc. Ideally, a strong ally of the US, but as a last resort ANYONE but China.

Yes, at least it's on the American continent and it's not freaking China.

Where are we on So. Korea ? I went looking for food delivery options, Schwab's has been the huge dog here in the mid west, since the early "60's. www.schwans.com After some research I find they are very dominate ! In the food delivery game, like on the verge of monopoly. But they got purchased by a family in So. Korea Their home office is listed in MN. I don't know what to think of it. One of the best mechanics here in tiny town would have been out of buisness 18 years ago, had he not started servicing 24 of their delivery truck's. They employ a large number of American's Curious about your thoughts Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. Neck Ties, Hats and ammo brass, Never ,ever touch'em w/o asking first

Buy American when possible. If not, buy from a strong ally of the US... ROK is certainly high on that list.

Keep in mind that Canada is currently a major dumping site for Chinese steel. I will often call Canadian companies, or reach out via email to ask about where their stuff is made or sourced. “The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false-face for the urge to rule it.”—H.L. Mencken

There's so many good USA made knives out there with USA sourced steel. Its one of the easiest products to get and avoid China.

A timely thread indeed. This weekend I was at my local Ace hardware, wearing my mask, standing six feet apart waiting to pay. Basically being a good little peon. One of the kids who works there and has helped me many times was stacking coolers and shouted from behind the counter "Hey man, wanna buy a $400 Yeti cooler, never been used and only dropped once"? I responded with "Overpriced roto-molded plastic made by Commies for Basic Girls to get Instagram likes? No Thanks"! The owner shot me the dirtiest hairy eyeball I have ever received in 40 years on this Earth. I have been going out of my way to buy American these past few months and do like to contact the manufacturers whenever possible. I recently spent over an hour on Amazon trying to filter out the knockoffs and find the original strap wrench made by Lisle in Iowa. Beware on Amazon, the Chinese shit will use a similar photo to the original MFD to try and fool you. The only way we can stop this nonsense is through our wallets.
