Brad is correct: If you want to blame somebody: Blame the Michigan GOP. I've mixed feelings about this law. On the one hand: Yes: It's going to increase the price of eggs considerably. OTOH: Have you seen what hens' lives in so-called "battery cage" systems is like? Yeah, yeah: "They're just chickens." And dogs are just dogs, cats are just cats, etc. They're living beings and, like most living beings, do exhibit behaviors indicative of emotions. IOW: Chickens have feelings, too. Looked at in that light: Battery cage systems are nothing short of animal abuse. Agreed. I don't have a lot of love for the Michigan GOP. None at all, in fact. "America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system,,,, but too early to shoot the bastards." -- Claire Wolfe "If we let things terrify us, life will not be worth living." -- Seneca the Younger, Roman Stoic philosopher

Right now I think a big part of egg prices and availability is because of ‘bird flu’ or similar. Around me the roadside egg prices were often $3-4 a dozen. I suppose that will be up soon too, with everything else.
