Great move there Gretchen, you insufferable BITCH. you have just removed an extremely .
The law was passed in 2019 (PA 132 of 2019). Guess what? Republicans had a 22-16 majority in the Senate and a 58-52 majority in the House. So the blame is not on the governor she just signed the legislation. This rest firmly at the feet of the REPUBLICAN led legislature.
Brad is correct: If you want to blame somebody: Blame the Michigan GOP.

I've mixed feelings about this law. On the one hand: Yes: It's going to increase the price of eggs considerably. OTOH: Have you seen what hens' lives in so-called "battery cage" systems is like?

Yeah, yeah: "They're just chickens." And dogs are just dogs, cats are just cats, etc.

They're living beings and, like most living beings, do exhibit behaviors indicative of emotions. IOW: Chickens have feelings, too.

Looked at in that light: Battery cage systems are nothing short of animal abuse.

As mentioned above the Republicans when they controlled House, Senate and governor's mansion increased the renewable mandate from 10% to 20% by 2025. Yes the Dems went all in with a 100% requirement by 2040 but the R's don't get a pass on either of these issues.
Agreed.

I don't have a lot of love for the Michigan GOP.

None at all, in fact.

Right now I think a big part of egg prices and availability is because of ‘bird flu’ or similar.

Around me the roadside egg prices were often $3-4 a dozen. I suppose that will be up soon too, with everything else.
