A fellow I know was contracted to make suppressor parts. Local machine shop. He was quick to share that if a person has in his possession all the parts to assemble a suppressor, the person could be in violation of the ordinance. It is called constructive intent. So if the suppressor is removed from the nfa, I hope this interpretation of constructive intent also is removed. ------- Trying to simplify my life...

If SBRs and Silencers are removed from the NFA… I’ll still be living in Pritzkerland. So until Robert’s votes for a 2A certiorari petition, I’m stuck.

I've seen mention of cans possibly being removed but didn't know SBRs were a possibility. ![]() If SBRs do happen, I did a SBR Sterling a few years ago and would really like to do another one but haven't because of the NFA stuff. I would most definately be diong another one, and possibly a Sten as well ![]()

For me it would depend on what happens to prices. There's nothing I NEED now. I wouldn't mind picking up another 5.56 suppressor and maybe a SBR or SBS, but at this point I don't want them bad enough to deal with the NFA stuff.

If "silencers" are not firearms then the 2nd amendment does not apply and they can be regulated however the government decides. It they ARE firearms then the 2nd applies and it's up to SCOTUS to determine "reasonable restrictions" under Heller. Most sane people would say they are not "firearms" any more than a flash suppressor or a muzzle brake. But from a legal point of view I am OK with them being Title 1 firearms subject to standard GCA provisions.

I read stuff like this pretty often. However, as long as you don’t possess them along with a pallet of cocaine while trafficking in illegals, you have little to worry about. Even during Biden at the worst, AUSA’s would not take NFA cases without a nexus to violence.

If we are blessed by God and they are removed then the market will be in turmoil for at least three years. But I welcome that turmoil. Eventually the market will figure it out as well as 3-D Printing playing a role perhaps. .02

Prices are likely to in crease quickly as demand increases, prices will rise. As production catches up, prices will drop. I anticipate a drop in a fairly short period of time because I believe manufacturers have been increasing production for over a year, since ATF took the background checks back. But I could be wrong. Personally, I'm going to get a 10.5 inch AR, threaded barrel, full stock, with a good suppressor. Perhaps a second upper in 300 BO.

I'll put a can on my AK-V first. I'll probably keep the brace, as it being a pistol allows me to keep it loaded right next to me in my truck. Rifles have to be locked up separate from the ammo. Assuming I understand it correctly.

It's an SSG 69 .308 with a Bixler can. I can't own the can in this state.. so it's in limbo at my local Fun Store. As far as I am aware this legislation is in very early stages. I sure hope it happens! If it does, then I will have a can on most all firearms. NRA Benefactor Life Member

Yes, of course. I was talking about the progression over time. Hence, "for a period" and "at some point". Sorry I didn't articulate it correctly. Though the GCA68 defines them as firearms, in actuality, they are not firearms. There are some great legal folks on our side pushing for our freedoms, and for now, we have momentum.
