These assholes just can't catch a break, because they're assholes!

Embarrassing moment CNN gets word that Iran has accepted the ceasefire, just seconds after Kaitlan Collins set up narrative casting doubt on Trump.

Oof. This one’s rough.

Watch till the end, you really can’t make this stuff up.

Kaitlan Collins had just finished questioning President Trump’s ceasefire deal between Israel and Iran, suggesting it might fall apart any second or never materialize.

“That obviously still remains to be seen on the implementation side of this, and waiting to see if the firing does stop and if Iran and Israel do both agree to this.”

“Just 24 hours ago, President Trump himself was suggesting a regime change in Iran… so the question is whether or not this still holds for the next few hours.”

Then...mid-thought...Anderson Cooper cut in with breaking news:

“Hey Kaitlan… I’ve just been given word that Iran—according to a diplomat who briefed CNN—has agreed to the ceasefire.”

“That’s incredibly significant… That’s the first indication we have that Iran has agreed to this.”

The timing couldn’t have been worse. Narrative collapsed....live on air.

Apparently in Farsi "MIGA" is a vulgar term, and Iranians are having a lot of fun with it.

From Twitter:

Not much the Air Force can do. There is a road at the end of the runway of Whiteman where news crews camp out anytime something big is about to go down.

Take off every few hours.
Hell, take off, turn right around and land…
Nothing tomorrow.
Wednesday, everyone take off at once. Come right back.
Thursday, every 45 minutes.
Friday, everyone take off, some land in Alaska, Calif, Florida. Come back Saturday.

It ain’t like the pilots don’t want to fly, and we got enough gas…
Play the mind games.

Or.... And hear me out here, take off at 3am in your black stealth aircraft with no lights.

On top of which, they probably already take off all the time for training missions so nobody would ever know if/when a takeoff is for training or a mission

Maybe? At least as long as Trump is in office, I think the option may be “go near nukes and die.”

I do think the “ceasefire” may end up with us making Iran a no-fly zone, including prohibiting Israel. (I don’t think the ME is comfortable with Israel owning airspace. I think we have owned the ME’s airspace anytime we wanted, for close to 40 years at this point.)

According to statements by various Iranian officials today, they have no intention of giving up their program or material.

Anyone notice the big support building that was left undamaged at the site. I have a sneaky suspicion the material never left the site and we know it. What if they took it out of the mountain and put it in the building, knowing that if it gets hit you have just created a radiological disaster, and you can use that as propaganda against the US and Israel. And then when you have a ceasefire you move it to another location. Leave it in the mountain, its gone. Move it during the air war also gone or snatched.

I thought this was cool. The article is about 10 years old.

Grandson of Enola Gay pilot to command B-2 unit

The grandson of the pilot who flew the Enola Gay will command the Air Force's stealth nuclear bomber unit.

Brig. Gen. Paul W. Tibbets IV will command the 509thBomb Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh announced Friday. Tibbets is currently the deputy director of nuclear operations for U.S. Strategic Command at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.

Tibbets, who achieved the rank of brigadier general last summer, is one of a few Air Force pilots who have flown the three bombers — the B-1, B-2 and B-52, according to the Air Force. His grandfather, Brig. Gen. Paul Tibbets Jr., flew the Enola Gay on the mission to bomb Hiroshima, Japan, on Aug. 6, 1945.

I wonder if that BDA report was a setup to find leakers...

When I was living in Tehran as a teenager, I knew well that the typical Iranian would smile to your face, and stab you in the back as soon as you turned around without a second thought. My friends and I were very careful not to get caught alone or in pairs as teh rock throwing would begin. Not just the kids, the adult men would throw rocks at us too. My Dad was fond of telling the story of the scorpion and the frog as it applies to Iranians, "it's in my nature to be so."

So, "ceasefire" or not, the Iranians will not cease their efforts to dominate their neighbors, and will initiate hostilities again as soon as they feel they have an advantage, it is in their nature.

Trump, Israel Say US Airstrike ‘Destroyed’ Crucial Nuclear Facility and Set Iran Back Years

The White House refuted a leaked report that stated Iran’s nuclear capabilities were not totally destroyed in the U.S. airstrike.

President Donald Trump announced that Israeli officials believe the U.S. airstrike targeting an Iranian nuclear site over the weekend has made it “totally inoperable” and set the regime back for years.

“The devastating U.S. strike on Fordow destroyed the site’s critical infrastructure and rendered the enrichment facility totally inoperable,” Trump told a NATO conference in the Netherlands, reading the statement from the Israeli Atomic Energy Commission
The agency assesses “that the American strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities have set back Iran’s ability to develop nuclear weapons for many years to come.”

Over the weekend, U.S. B-2 stealth planes dropped bombs on several Iranian sites, including the partially buried Fordow site, before Trump announced that a cease-fire would commence between Israel and Iran after more than a week-long aerial conflict between the two nations.

This week, a preliminary report, issued by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), was leaked to media outlets stating Iran’s nuclear capabilities were not totally destroyed in the U.S. airstrike, drawing pushback from Trump and other administration officials.

When asked about that DIA report on Wednesday, Trump disputed the assessment, saying. “All they can do is take a guess.”

“Now, if you take a look at the pictures ... the whole area for 75 yards around the hole is black with fire,” Trump said, referring to the damage done during the strikes on Fordow. He also chided media outlets for reporting on the leak, saying that the pilots of the U.S. B-2 planes put their lives at risk to carry out the mission and that the report was discrediting those military members.

“It was obliteration, and you’ll see that,” Trump told reporters earlier in the day while attending the NATO summit in the Netherlands. He said the intelligence was “very inconclusive” and described media outlets as “scum” for reporting on it.

Trump has said in comments and posts on social media in recent days, including Tuesday, that the strike left the sites in Iran “totally destroyed” and that Iran will never rebuild its nuclear facilities.

The White House also rejected the DIA assessment, releasing an emailed statement on Wednesday to The Epoch Times indicating that Iran’s nuclear facilities “have been obliterated” and chided “fake news” reports.

That email also included a quote from Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei saying that “our nuclear installations have been badly damaged, that’s for sure.”

On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised statement, “For dozens of years I promised you that Iran would not have nuclear weapons and indeed ... we brought to ruin Iran’s nuclear program.” He said the United States joining Israel was a historic move and praised Trump.

It comes as the head of the UN atomic agency signaled that international investigators are unsure of where Iran’s uranium is located following the strikes or whether it was moved.

Speaking to Fox News on June 24, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director-General Rafael Mariano Grossi was asked about 900 pounds of uranium that Iran reportedly possessed. He then indicated that the UN agency doesn’t know.
“I have to be very precise. …We are the IAEA, so we are not speculating here,” he said. “We do not have information of the whereabouts of this material.”

exactly - it came up with a definitive answer pretty quickly and there has been no other information since then

and the three sources according to CNN was just three different people with exactly the same report

I think it was a smokescreen to root a few people out
