Just picked one up.

Curious what mods have you done to yours?

Adding a light for sure and maybe a green dot.

Beretta 1301 Tips Every Owner Should Know

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

My 1301 Mod2 quickly became my favorite shotgun. I've added a Strike Industries barrel clamp, light, Velcro shot card saddle, match saver shell holder (although heavy magnum loads can make it 'drop' the spare shell), Magpul sling, and a red dot on a low profile mounting plate. I bought the plate from Amazon, couldn't bring myself to spend 2-3 more for some of the others out there. Instead of replacing the forearm/adding a heat shield, I've been experimenting with a couple sheets of silicone held in place by rubber bands and have been pleased with the results so far.

Here's my early Gen1 with an early Kick-off stock and other mods; such a sweet shooting gun, although I haven't shot it in a few years.

All I know is I regret shooting my friend’s 1301. Some competition model with a blue receiver and a ten foot long magazine tube. It was so nice I’m thinking of selling off both my “modern” shotguns to get one.

I swapped the plastic end bits for a Nordic Components extension along with a Nordic barrel clamp with an M-Lok slot and a sling QD. Did a Farrow Tech optic mount with a 509T. Drilled the stock on the right side and added a GrovTec QD base PN# GTHM198. Added a limbsaver pad and a Kicks Industries Buck Kicker choke which I haven't gotten to play with yet. Light is a new Surefire Turbo with a pressure pad. Recently purchased a Langdon Tactical heat shield with cable management I haven't installed yet, looks promising. Added a velcro side panel and some shot gun cards. I like the Grim Hunter Tactical vs. the Esstac ones. Enjoy!

I’ve got the mod2. I swapped aluminum mag cover and clamp from GG&G. Mine came as a pistol grip. I fucking hated it. Swapped into the Magpul SGA with Aridus adapter, Aridus Bolt lever, and Zhukov forend.

I tried installing the bigger Aridus bolt release but that is one hard mf’er to install. I tried everything they suggested including their shim blah blah blah. Ended up stripping their tiny ass screws. They wanted me to pay for a new set which annoyed me. I’m not ham fisted at all around gun smithing chores. I’m convinced their parts were slightly out of spec because installing 2 screws shouldn’t be that hard. So basically I’m kind of at a fuck you Aridus moment and that very expensive part is sitting in a parts bin unused. Other than that their parts are top shelf but personally I would stay away from the bolt release. Just me. And fuck you Aridus if you read this. Won’t get another dollar from me and I have a second 1301 sitting in a box as we speak lol.

I love mine!
I tossed on an Inforce light, Vickers Sling, and a velcro side saddle.

I have the early LTT model with the Zhukov forend. I love this gun and it's the last gun I would part with.

That's the plan with mine. I want to keep it simple and do my best to NOT add more weight as I did with my 590. Maybe a green dot, but I want to get my hands on it first.

Does anyone use a riser with a optic on a shotgun? That's what I have on my 590 and I feel it's more comfortable, at least on that shotgun.

My favorite firearm to shoot, I bought my 1301 Tactical Mod 2 before the ATF banned it last year due to 922r B.S., forcing Beretta to reconfigure it to the current "Tactical C" model. It is stock, except for a Streamlight. I was going to change out the mag tube cover and clamp to aluminum ones from GG&G, but never got around to doing it, I still will order them sometime. Fantastic gun.

Honestly the aluminum mag tube cover and clamp are probably the only thing I classify as “have to”. The thought of a fantastic fighting shotgun having a plastic cover and clamp is crazy. For the price Beretta should be ashamed of themselves. lol

I love the Magpul stock and definitely prefer the Zhukov but the stock stuff isn’t bad it just wasn’t my thing.

I was planning on getting the aluminum cover and clamp from GG&G as well because I read about some issues with the clamp moving, but I also read it was fixed with the Mod2.

Either way the plastic is just blah....

Mine is a Mod 2

Nordic Barrel clamp and clamp pads.
The pads really made a difference.

2 point Blue Force Gear Padded Vickers sling.

A Velcro shell carrier,

A streamlight with a pressure switch.

Ordered the cover and clamp combo yesterday from GG&G. They sent me an email that shipping is slow due to high demand of their stuff, but that's OK, I waited this long to order anyways.

I don’t think clamp pads serve an actual necessary purpose. That being said I put a small strip of electrical tape under my GG&G aluminum mag tube cover clamp merely to avoid scratches. On a fighting shotgun. Yea, it’s unnecessary. I could have lived with the plastic clamp on the aluminum cover because some guys ditch the clamp entirely anyways. Either way, good purchase.

Got the same email.

Placed my order on the 12th.

Each to their own. As requested.

Clamp pad, I could not tighten it enough comfortably so it would not move.

Midway has the pads.
