Dirty Boat Guy |
Yes. Not only that but my last ship had females on it and I somehow managed not to fuck any of them. A penny saved is a government oversight.

Therefore, no one else likely had such relationships, therefore it is not a problem for the military?? "Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women. The commander and first officer are about the only people that could have sex on a submarine with a female. Think about it, they're the only ones who have their own cabin, where else on a submarine could you have sex without 1/3 of the crew watching at any given time.

How many submarines have you served on, Jimbo? Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson "Some things are apparent. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

None Jimbob, but I've walked on a few. And, if you have about the ONLY place that one could get it on while underway would be the head (but you'd have a line of pissed off people waiting to use it since there are very few heads compared to the amount of crew) or one of the couple officers staterooms.....other than that space is at a PREMIUM on submarines and there isn't a single area that isn't full of crew...... Hey perhaps that's the watch crew on those destroyers were busy shagging on the bridge of those destroyers when they got rear ended by cargo ships!

It's not you, it's me. |
Some people are into that sorta thing. If I'm on a sub for months, I could go for a show.

Good for you. However, that statement could probably be said by 90% of the sailors on the sub in question as well. It is easy for the bad 10% to totally destroy morale, especially when they are (and they inevitably are) in positions of authority. Furthermore, this sub might as well been hit by an enemy torpedo for all the damage done. CO and XO relieved, needs new chain of command and time to fix the morale issues and function as a warship again. Same diff. as combat damage and a dry dock for a year. Either way, she's out of commission until it gets fixed. “People have to really suffer before they can risk doing what they love.” –Chuck Palahnuik Be harder to kill: https://preparefit.ck.page

I agree 100%. Never having been in the military, it seems that being on a ship is all about fighting and projecting military power. It shouldn't be about about constantly wasting mental concentration and energy suppressing your natural instincts, creating trouble for not only the military and your shipmates, but for your spouse and family ? Human beings are predictable in this sense, so it's not just about military discipline, there are practical considerations. Lover of the US Constitution Wile E. Coyote School of DIY Disaster

I meant that one would be surprised at the places on a submarine where a sexual escapade would be possible with some sort of privacy. I suspect, though, that the improper relationships in the OP took place on shore. It's one thing for a couple of enlisted to get down, but we always knew where the CO and XO were onboard and underway. Also, even if a sexual encounter took place in one of the more "private" areas onboard a boat, sooner or later it will become common knowledge in each sailor's division. There tends to be fewer secrets as the months go by on patrol.

I served aboard the U.S.S. Gato and the U.S.S. Woodrow Wilson. There are plenty of nooks and crannies to get it on if you were so inclined.

I worked with a guy who was queer as a $7 bill. So much so, that we watched him "convert" an office mate to play for his team - so to speak. He was a former submariner and had stories to tell about what he and others did while on deployment. It happens. Like it or not. Whoever it was earlier who was trying to insinuate that gays were minor in number and no one on a sub would ever do such a thing - you're wrong. ------------------ SBrooks

...lets see....Fan Rooms, Storerooms, work spaces that aren't manned 100% of the time........I'm sure there's more. Also, Its not just sex underway, its when they're in port as well. I’m pretty sure it was a HIM taking it in those nooks and crannies. Considering the age of those boats. But people seem to think that homosexual sex doesn’t happen on a boats, since they’ve never seen it or partaken in it.
