Crusty old curmudgeon |
The best line the cop uttered was "if you just ignore them you take away their power". You can tell that that just went over her head like an SR71 in afterburn. Jim ________________________ "If you can't be a good example, then you'll have to be a horrible warning" -Catherine Aird

Two years ago when we were in the process of relocating to the area for her job with Uncle Sam, I looked at Chapel Hill and a couple of the other small Police Depts including the University of UNC, Duke etc.. People I knew along with others who I later became acquainted with "suggested" that it would not be wise to work in those areas due to my views, and how I am used to "policing". I said okay and let it go. After working in NC and reading this forum, I am getting a better understanding of the Why. Even if the individual does not get the punishment all the forum members would like, I truly believe that she realized that she may have screwed the pooch. As much as I am not a huge fan of the internet and haven't joined all the social networking sites, the internet does reach into every nook and cranny. Especially now that people posts everything online and almost anything can be found with the right search word/phrases.

Plowing straight ahead come what may |
This exchange sorta tells me she is a reluctant, at best, SJW (it seemed like a good idea at the time but on second thought, it's not supposed to end like this) who is embarrassed with this outcome (maybe mom, dad, grandpa and grandma don't share her views and will not be happy)...she is taking too much backwater during the police confrontation IMHO for actions such as this to be her "default setting" in life... Even if nothing comes of it...I enjoyed seeing this post ...the internet is forever! ******************************************************** "we've gotta roll with the punches, learn to play all of our hunches Making the best of what ever comes our way Forget that blind ambition and learn to trust your intuition Plowing straight ahead come what may And theres a cowboy in the jungle" Jimmy Buffet

Equal Opportunity Mocker |
C'mon guys, she's just hard up for a good abortion provider, and as she says, these people are making it so hard to get an abortion in NC.... Cut her some slack, it isn't like she was racing to the edge of the handrail to throw it over before he stopped her or anything. She just moved it. ________________________________________________ "You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. She will go back to class. Her professor will congratulate her, her social circle will admire her, everyone in her universe will tell her she was brave. And she will do it again next week.

A few comments based on the posts. Of course any LEO are free to comment. Most people don't realize that once the situation dictates, or the officer decides that you're under arrest, it's a done deal. The application of handcuffs is just part of the process. Whether or not she does it again depends on who she is, who she's aligned with, and what happens. If she's charged and convicted with a penalty that will definitely have an impact. If she gets off with no penalty at all, is deeply personally convicted, or is aligned with a group that will fire her up for being 'arrested for the cause', I'd lay money she'll do it again. There are a lot of people there with no fear of being arrested if they feel they are just in their cause, especially if they know it just costs them a fine. A felony conviction would send a message to her and others on UNC campus that this is NOT acceptable. Legalize the Constitution |
She kept repeating that "I cannot believe these are the people you are trying to protect." They were doing NOTHING but expressing their opinion on the issue of abortion. Her view is disgustingly predominant on college campuses to wit, no opinions are allowed outside of the leftist, feminist, socialist orthodoxy. So glad that in at least this instance a young fascist learned that theft in maintaining that orthodoxy is not permitted--even if only today with this particular police officer. _______________________________________________________ despite them

I appreciate your hatred for Chapel Hill, but you misstate things a bit. Speculating that CH is the entrance to hell is asinine. It IS the entrance to Hell. Get your head on straight, boy.

Seems the whole event had zero to do with protecting any particular group of people. It had everything to do with her taking of property that didn't belong to her to begin with. This process of denying one's own unlawful acts and trying to turn the attention to perceived grievances is ridiculous. God bless America.

Saw this a few days ago. My take-away from her behavior is that she’s been raised her whole life to believe that what she was doing was absolutely correct, reinforced at every turn by her family, her teachers, and her peers. She seemed absolutely stunned when she realized the law says she’s in the wrong. Her commentary about “how can you protect these people?” just prior to getting cuffed says it all. The left thinks they can do whatever they want to people they don’t agree with. It’s satisfying to watch her get the perp walk, but it’s also instructional and pretty scary. She’d be one of the ones cheering while “right wing” folks like us get lined up at the trenches. I hope more cops start arresting her type for breaking laws in front of them. Sure isn’t happening in the PNW. ______________________________________________ “There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason ever to hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you, too.”

Bad dog! |
What I found most interesting about the video is that she has no awareness at all that someone she disapproves of could have rights before the law. The officer is trying to explain this to her-- "You can't just take other people's property"-- and you can see the wheels spinning in her head. She can't grasp that idea. In her mind, her judgments are not only supreme, they are all that there is. It's a bizarre, and scary, world view that she has picked up like a virus that is in the air of UNC. All the socialists/commies there think this way. "I disapprove of you; therefore, I can do whatever I want to you, and you have no recourse before the law." ______________________________________________________ "You get much farther with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone."

Be not wise in thine own eyes |
I like the way that the officer spoke to the girl, explaining right from wrong. I use to talk to my daughters that way, when they were 2. “We’re in a situation where we have put together, and you guys did it for our administration…President Obama’s administration before this. I did not know that "Roe" wanted to have abortion case reversed. Even though it has been close to 20 year since this, I do not remember this being discussed in the news. I wonder if all these SJW's know about this and if it would change their minds ??? God Bless "Roe" Wants Abortion Case Reversed "Always legally conceal carry. Let's keep a forbidden topic out of this thread please. This thread was about an SJW getting arrested for a blatant (and common) illegal act. Not the topic of the protest. Fine line to walk, saying that someone got arrested for “impeding free speech” when it was really for larceny and then asking that people not address the original topic of abortion without elaborating further for those of us who don’t know what you’re talking about so we don’t get in trouble. Almost feels like you’re skirting the rules, man. What about your “Antifa tries to punch a Marine thread”? As I recall, clickbait was verboten as well. ______________________________________________ “There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason ever to hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you, too.”

Too old to run, too mean to quit! |
So I guess that she, along with her fellow idjits, consider abortion a suitable form of birth control. Allow me to clarify both points for you. Point 1: The discussion in the thread was focused on the act of the larceny of the sign and the result. A member posted a link to an opinion on Abortion, a topic forbidden again recently by Para, which could have taken this thread down that rabbit hole. I honestly didn't care WHAT she was opposed to, just that the officer arrested her for a clear violation of the law. Point 2: The Clickbait thread. The title I posted was the exact title of the video, and exactly what appeared to happen in the video. That was enjoyable, life lessons come in many forms. For this young lady in her LuluLemon leggings and UNC sweatshirt, there's consequences that occur outside the college bubble. Perhaps she should've attended a 'more progressive school', instead of a state sponsored institution where rules remarkably get enforced.
