His arrogance will be costly. SIGforum supports law enforcement but driving a police vehicle, wearing a police uniform and carrying a badge does not make you a prince in the kingdom.

I know that intersection, 434 is a main road across Seminole County, north of Orlando. That OPD officer was speeding in Seminole County out of his jurisdiction, OPD would be in Orange County, looks like Seminole County didn't like his FU attitude and formerly charged him. "Orlando, Florida — On June 6, 2023, at 12:15 p.m. a Seminole County Sheriff's Deputy on routine patrol stopped Orlando Police Officer, 35-year-old Alexander Shaouni for driving nearly twice the speed limit along a stretch of road. Officer Shaouni was going 80 mph in a 45 mph zone down Florida Avenue. When the deputy caught up with Shaouni, authorities say he didn't stop and drove through cars to avoid the deputy. The deputy eventually got him to pull over at the intersection of State Road 434 and Hammock Lane. During the stop, footage shows Shaouni dressed in police uniform driving a marked Orlando Police Department SUV. When questioned, body camera footage shows Shaouni becoming furious. “What? I am going into work, my man,” he says to the deputy. “Why are you trying to pull me over as I’m going into work?”. "Because you’re going 80 in a 45," the deputy responds. When asked for his driver's license, the officer says no, returns to his cruiser, and drives away. On Tuesday, the Orlando Police Department said that the agency was notified by the sheriff's office Friday about Shaouni being criminally charged. Shaouni is charged with resisting an officer, reckless driving and fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer. He turned himself in Friday to the Seminole County Jail and was released on $9,000 bond. Orlando police said Shaouni has been relieved of his duties pending the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office criminal investigation as well as Orlando police’s internal affairs investigation."

His lack of respect to a fellow law man makes me shudder at the level of contempt & dislike he has for us regulars?! Better not need him.

Speed limits apply to thee but not to me I wonder if OPD knew he took his cruiser to another county at night? My understanding is taking cruisers out of jurisdiction is highly variable between agencies: Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity DISCLAIMER: These are the author's own personal views and do not represent the views of the author's employer.

What exactly is the "pecking order" amongst Florida's law enforcement agencies? I was always under the impression the county sheriff's departments had the most juice. Harshest Dream, Reality

I live in Polk county and in my development we have a deputy from Orange county, a deputy from Osceola county, a police officer from Haines City and at one time an FHP officer. When I worked for my friend in Winter Haven every so often I would go by a house where there was a police officer from Tampa and thats a long ride for him to get to work. I think it may be basses on how far you live from the boarder of the county you work in compared to being outside the county. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. Is it odd that he was pulling over a marked police car? Haven't seen that before.

This ^^^^ Alexander Shaouni should most definitely not have any job in any aspect of law enforcement, anywhere, IMO. "America is at that awkward stage. The pecking order here is that OPD probably thinks they aren’t gonna get fucked with by Seminole County, and Seminole County doesn’t give a fuck about OPD. But, a lot of local LEOs start their careers elsewhere and end up at OPD or at least try. The location where this traffic stop took place is not problematic for the officer to be taking his vehicle home. NRA Life Member Steak: Rare. Coffee: Black. Bourbon: Neat.

Well, he was running 80 in a 45 no lights, from the front these Explorers look stock, white, and the short thin lightbars on top are hard to see if not lit, look like roof racks. Guy needed to be pulled running darn near double the limit on a rural road with plenty of driveway access and cross roads that are Stop Sign, no lights.

My father told me once that a Texas State Trooper pulled him over once while he was on duty, driving a pistachio green Border Patrol Suburban. Trooper walked up to the window and my father got the niceties out of the way and then said "Hey, I'm on the job, here." The trooper said "Mister, I don't smuggle illegal aliens and you don't speed on my highways. Do we understand each other?" To his credit, my father said "yes sir" and the trooper turned on his heel and left. That Orlando cop needs a job doing something else. I hear Wendy's is hiring. ______________________________________________ “There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason ever to hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you, too.”

I support law enforcement. I also support the penalties for law enforcement being stricter than the general public. They have privileges in a dangerous line of work, and we should (and do) accord them the benefit of the doubt in many situations. However, when someone in law enforcement abuses those privileges or commits a criminal act, lock them up and throw away the key.
