Fish bowl has been remedied.

Winter tires are not on because the dealership didn't give me the key for the wheel locks. They say my car does not have them, when I can clearly see it does. That will be three more hours of driving in a circle to have them match up what wheel lock number they need to order. Also fun, they said they didn't know if they could transfer my tags, and my insurance agent was bugging me to return the old ones. While I was at performance shop waiting for my new wheels to be installed my agent calls me and tells me I've returned the current car tags and that they were transferred.

So now my car is illegal and I don't have my new wheels and tires installed. Thanks Audi of Frederick!

She does look sexy with the windows corrected though:

Guessing he had the windows tinted & doesn't feel like he's driving in a fish bowl Cool

Car looks great, Jesse!
Looking forward to seeing it with the new wheels

Yes, sorry. Fishbowl is what people call a tintless car. Because it feels like everyone is staring at you. The correction is getting the windows tinted.

I went with 20% this time, the 15% I had on the GR Corolla was too dark for taking turns at night in a neighborhood with lots pedestrians. Luckily this car has a light somewhere that turns on at low speed when you turn the wheel enough. Also the headlamps track the wheel position too.

I had my windows tinted within two hours of leaving the dealership. My guy was half the price the dealer wanted too.

New Jeep Compass to drive during the winter; road trips; and trips to Home Depot. The RS 5 is too nice to be daily driver or exposed to salt/sand. Plus this uses 87 vs 93. I Was trying for 2000's Tacoma or even an old Ranger, but they were all way to expensive most over $12,000. Got this on end of year markdown from $38k to $24k and since it's brand new has a warranty for relatively much better price than used vehicle. Gets delivered tomorrow.

Prefontaine,

I only had one option requirement leather/heated seats. This thing and the Dodge Hornet were the only things under $30k out the door that I could find that were AWD/4WD. I was kicking myself when I read your reply. Looked and I would have had to raise my budget over 50% to get into a ranger. The Bronco Sport was in consideration, but that was over budget as well. In fact anything new was over budget. I just stretched the budget because of the value highly marked down new presents vs over priced used. Don't even get me started on the secondary used car market. Eek

Thank goodness that the purchase attempt on the Hornet went sideways, I feel like I Dodged a bullet there. The first one (3mi ODO) dash lit up like a Christmas, I didn't think it even had that many systems or understand how they could all require service. Plus the turn single didn't click when engaged and didn't turn off after turning. Second identical one on lot had squirrels living under the hood and a dead battery. Again someone was looking down upon me last night. I didn't understand why a sleek looking 268hp small SUV was the worst selling car in America, I now know why.

Houses without at least a 1 car garage never made sense to me, but I've lived in the same area all my life and they're not common here. Same as houses without basements. That's a lot of living space people are giving up.

In any case, that's a nice pair to have in any driveway. Congratulations.

A Perpetual Disappointment...

I'm betting the Audi cost more than my first house. It's a beautiful car. I wonder if someone makes a good outdoor cover for it?

A good looking pair. Now you’re going to need snow tires for the Jeep Compass. Smile

BTW – now you don’t need snow tires and wheels for the Audi. Can you return them?

I knew I messed up. My apologies. I said Ranger, when I meant Maverick. Two acquaintances have bagged Mavericks. One guy got the FWD model for $24k brand new + TTL. The other guy got the AWD version for a few thousand more. Ford has been dealing on them pretty hard. For the money it’s pretty damn hard to beat.
