Instead of waiting two years, let's put our energy into beating the Senate Dems that are in other red states next November.

It's a short lived dem victory. In two years it will get turned, and next year I hope my home state will give us another R with the demise of millionaire Claire.

Bitch should have gone last time, but - if you recall, in similar shenanigans - the dems "helped" us pick a flawed candidate in the primary who opened his mouth (as they knew he would) and shot himself in the foot.

Any - literally any - other candidate in that primary would have beat her handily. But the ass ignorant way we do our primaries means dems get to vote too, and really skews our primary results. So Claire-Bear got the candidate she wanted to fight, and just sat back and waited for him to fuck up. Which he did, in grand fashion, and then refused to bow out of the race (sound familiar?) and let a more capable candidate win what should have been an easy contest.

Long story short, they won this round. But Alabama will fix it in 2020, and Missouri will flip a D to R in 2018. Now if everybody else can keep their poop in a group, we should be fine.

I have mixed emotions. As far as the Senate goes it's bad. As for not having to deal with the Roy Moore BS that comes with him it's good.

To a great extent I agree with this. I would have preferred a long drawn out battle that keep the seat in the good guys column until finished though.

I'm hoping Stuart Smalley reneges on his resignation. This will pull all of the BS attention from the rekindled BS accusations on Trump.

― Winston S. Churchill

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I go home tomorrow, and I'm just about as happy as a peach about that. Nighty night, y'all.

As far as the future, this isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Yes, were are down to 51 in the Senate, but things were dicey anyway.

The moral high ground the Democrats had hoped for regarding the sexual harassment stuff just evaporated.
Now Democrats are stuck with all these charges against their own.

Yes, the Democrats won tonight, but they now have an albatross around their necks.

Yep, bad night for Al Franken. He was probably the only Democrat in the country hoping Moore would win.

My thoughts exactly.

Moore wins, the harassment conversation flips to the Rs and maybe FrankenMolester gets to back out of his resignation.

This also give the Rs a kick in the ass to get their shit together for 2018 / 2020.

The same goes for the Media.
I think they have some regret that Moore lost because they wanted drive the sexual harassment thing in the headlines to bash Republicans all the way through until the 2018 elections.

Now all they have is a lot of Democrats getting hung and the same old lame charges voters knew about Trump when we elected him.

When the medis wakes up in the morning, they are gonna see that things are not good for them.

I don't care about the harassment stuff, all I know is that not a whole lot is going to happen in the Senate next year, ie. obamacare repeal, due to McCain, Flake, Collins, Murkowski, Corker & others.

You can thank the following GOPe senators for pushing jonesy over the line...Mcconnell,Shelby, Gardner, Cornyn, Flake.

Also thanks to Fox News for their never-ending negative coverage and telling their audience that Moore was guilty of the allegations.

So in regards to Alabama, we've lost a seat and still have an Attorney General, who is looking more and more incompetent by the day and it's going to be really hard for Trump to replace him this coming year due to Mcconnell.

Moore was a terrible candidate. Seeing his campaign manager getting interviewed on the news today, holy shit - makes Moore look like a joke. ALso hearing his wife state that he's not anti-Semitic because ONE of his lawyers is a Jew, just wow.
