It's really weird having a socialist/communist social justice warrior as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Gen. Mark Milley Compared Trump Supporters To Nazis: ‘These Are The Same People We Fought In World War II’

General Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, compared supporters of former President Donald Trump to Nazis, according to a new book.

Milley, who has been widely criticized for being “woke,” claimed that Trump was preaching “the gospel of the Führer” when he contested the results of the 2020 election and claimed that Trump had led the U.S. to the brink of its own “Reichstag moment,” a reference to an incident in 1933 that Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler used to consolidate political power in Germany.

New York Magazine reported:

… the general’s worries grew rapidly as the president plunged the nation into chaos following Election Day. Seven days later, Milley got a call from “an old friend” with an explicit warning that Trump and his allies were trying to “overturn the government.” Milley was confident that any attempts by Trump to hold on to power would be thwarted, because the military wouldn’t go along. “They may try, but they’re not going to fucking succeed,” he told aides. “You can’t do this without the military. You can’t do this without the CIA and the FBI. We’re the guys with guns.”

The book says that Milley responded to the January 6 riot by saying, “These guys are Nazis, they’re boogaloo boys, they’re Proud Boys. These are the same people we fought in World War II.”

The report concludes by saying that Milley told Michelle Obama on Biden’s inauguration day that “no one has a bigger smile today than I do. You can’t see it under my mask but I do.”

A separate book documented a separate incident that happened with Milley when Trump was in office in which Milley snapped at Senior White House Adviser Stephen Miller after Miller warned Trump that far-left riots were destroying America last summer.

The allegations are made in a new book by a Wall Street Journal reporter who released excerpts to CNN, which reported:

During one Oval Office debate, senior Trump adviser Stephen Miller chimed in, equating the scenes unfolding on his television to those in a third-world country and claiming major American cities had been turned into war zones.

“These cities are burning,” Miller warned, according to the excerpts.

The comment infuriated Milley, who viewed Miller as not only wrong but out of his lane, Bender writes, noting the Army general who had commanded troops in Iraq and Afghanistan spun around in his seat and pointed a finger directly at Miller.

“Shut the f–k up, Stephen,” Milley snapped, according to the excerpts.

Milley stirred controversy during a recent hearing in front of Congress in which he said he wanted to understand “white rage” and that he found it “offensive” that he was being accused of turning the military “woke” because “we’re studying some theories that are out there.”

He didn't do squat in WW2, Korea or Vietnam!

How the hell do we even allow someone like this at the top of our military?

Our military is constitutionally designed to have civilian leadership, who's not staying in their lane?

Crappy as he is....they didn't pick him for Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff..... Link: Wikipedia

On December 8, 2018, President Donald Trump announced that he would nominate Milley to serve as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, although Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis and then-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Dunford favored Air Force Chief of Staff General David L. Goldfein for the appointment.[31][32][33][34][35] Milley had initially been fielded as a candidate to succeed Curtis Scaparrotti as commander of the United States European Command and Supreme Allied Commander Europe, but after interviews with Trump was nominated for the chairmanship instead.

Not one of his best appointments, that.

DJT picked him replacing Dunford, imagine who was passed-over leaving Milley as the 'best choice'. Consider Lefties were excoriating Milley as a Trump-supporter

Miley played the mil-career game well, never really invested in one place, while getting shiny post-grad degrees at Ivy League schools. None of it prepared him nor, did he really understand the political game of The Beltway; from his appearance at Lafayette Square with POTUS to his recent testimony before Congress, he's stumbling badly at being apolitical.

Milley is a boot licking moron who is a disgrace to the uniform he wears. Just venturing a guess here, but I'd say if we had to fight a war against a 'real' opponent, this asshole would likely be responsible for more US military deaths than our opponent(s) would be. Maybe a good question for Little Milley would be..."When was the last time you won a war?" Maybe go read a book on that topic for a change.

I totally agree, but I'm not about to believe everything the media writes about Trump. There may be some truth in the OP's article, but I remain very skeptical.

I believe that the rank and file of our military has been and is now, the finest example of our society and the backbone of our freedom. But I have exactly zero confidence in the leadership of our military, especially the Joint Chiefs.

I could write a book on the good (a little) and the bad (a lot) while working at Mitre for 11 years.

I have never understood why some of them get promoted.

Over half of the Officer corps is now the product of liberal college indoctrination. The military vote is no longer solid red, and the changes we are seeing are a result of that. Hell even the enlisted ranks are getting pretty fucking woke.

His mind has been poisoned. He thinks innocent citizens with an opinion are Nazis. And we all know any punishment is justified for Nazis. Those who think like he does are genocidal sociopaths. How many others are there like him or will follow his orders thinking they are moral?

I don't know the man personally, but I don't think he is a socialist/communist, social justice warrior. I'm just not buying that. The other article related to him that was posted a while back, which contained a link to a video clip where he mentions reading books about socialists and that not making him one, seemed to be a lot about nothing to me. I watched it numerous times and couldn't really find fault with what the said, although his comment about "white rage" I found perplexing. Was there some missing context from that video? - Seems likely.
But we are also getting snippets here that may be out of context, or deliberately misleading. The man certainly seems like a bulldog, and I'll bet he's rubbed more than one person the wrong way with his demeanor. However, I haven't seen nearly enough evidence to make me think he is unfit for the position he holds ,or is some kind of leftist stooge.
So before we get yet another thread running this guy down, is there anyone among us that actually knows the man and can speak to his character with real insight? One thing I have learned from this past year or so is that we cannot necessarily take as gospel everything that comes out of the mouths of those of us who are supposedly on the political right either. I think we need more information before we collectively tar and feather this guy.

Not sure if you saw the complete video of his testimony, but the question he wouldn't answer is if he agreed with the contents of the book. He refused to answer and threw out the comment about 'white rage'. He has said in sworn testimony that the greatest threat facing the country is white supremacy. Anyone making that asinine statement shouldn't have any position of trust - your mileage may vary.

These comments from the book have been out there for a couple of days now. Direct quotes from attributed sources, not anonymous. Several reporters have asked for comment - he has not denied anything that has been reported. If these statements were not true, don't you think he would have come out immediately and denied them?

If the guy wants to teach at some backwater unversity fine, but Joint Chiefs of Staff NO!

I also do not think he is nearly as intelligent as he thinks he is. I do not see any evidence of tape altering. I have known a few General Officers personally and this guy does not impress me.
