Not trying to bust your chops, but no increase in spending will get the VA past it's current state. The problem is the extra money will go towards adding more personnel (mostly support) and very little of it will go to the medications, surgeries, or other care that would be beneficial to those in the care of the VA. Get the point. The VA system is so broken that there is no amount of money that'll make it better. It is so full of bureaucratic bullshit and lifelong employees (and adding more every minute) that there is no bringing it back.

I would love to see a grand military display. Involve all branches. Use it as a recruiting campaign. Use it as a Fuck You to the left. Use it as a Fuck You to the America haters around the world.

Stop it. Just stop it. Money is not the primary problem at the VA. Government control of the VA is. The initial reason for the very existence of the VA doesn't even exist any more. Veterans could get far better treatment through private sector doctors than through the VA, at a lower cost to the taxpayer. This is just one more example of how government refuses to ever give up control over something they've had control of in the past.

Government doesn't give a damn about veterans. Its gives a damn about continuing to grow and expand its reach and control of the populace.

If you actually believe the money would otherwise go towards directly serving the needs of vets you’re going to be absolutely crushed to learn the truth about the tooth fairy.

I think this exercise is less about the troops, and more about the President. I expect that if it's done in connection Memorial Day, or Independence Day it will have national significance.
