A Portland, Oregon, jury has cleared a black man of assault charges for stabbing a white man — after it was revealed that the victim said the N-word after the attack.

Gary Edwards, 43, was found not guilty of second-degree assault after knifing Gregory Howard Jr., 43, on July 7, KPTV reported.

Edwards admitted to stabbing Howard Jr., but claimed it was in self-defense after the victim had used racial slurs, Oregon Live reported...

Soft bigotry of low expectations. As long as you give them a free pass after these crimes, nothing will change.

There was NO evidence that the knifing victim used any slurs before he was attacked and stabbed, only after getting sliced. The black man approached the white guy, knife in hand, before the guy even saw the knife dude. And claims by the defense that he had a knife out because he wanted to trade it for some cigarettes is a fiction worse than the tooth fairy.

No, I think the lesson is, it's ok to stab people in the hope that after you stab them, they call you names.

Man Accused In Fatal Charlotte Train Stabbing Ruled Incompetent To Stand Trial

Two months after mental health experts deemed Decarlos Brown Jr. incompetent to stand trial for the fatal train stabbing of 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska last year - when Brown shouted "I got that white girl" - a federal judge has agreed with them.

Brown, 34, will be committed to a federal facility for treatment for up to four months in an attempt to restore competency, Judge Kenneth D. Bell said in his order on June 9.

After Brown's time in the treatment facility, the court will again take up the case to determine if he is then considered competent. If he is found competent, the murder case will resume.

A North Carolina man has been charged with assault after videos circulated around social media of him appearing to punch a woman in the city of Charlotte.

Jail records show a pattern of release for at least 9 previous offenses that range from probation violations to assault with a deadly weapon.

On Thursday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Di-Quan Hunt, 32 was arrested after allegedly assaulting or harassing multiple people on video.

One video is from July 30 and it shows Hunt punching a woman before running away, police said.



The woman’s injuries were not life-threatening but severe. It isn’t clear what the motivation was for the attack but it appears to be random.

Records show that Hunt has been arrested nine times over the past couple of years, according to local media.

One video that circulated showed a woman laying on the pavement while Hunt allegedly screamed at her.








“Diquan Shafar Hunt was arrested in December 2025 for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and three other charges,” X user Matt Van Swol wrote on X. “On March 18, 2026, he took a plea from Judge Joseph Setzer Jr.”

I was attempting to figure out the true murder rate by black males, so much is obscured in reporting!
So, finally:

If you take exception... please see the FBI Stats. I will say that better correlation may well be made looking at single parent homes, poverty and terrible education.

That said, there is NO EXCUSE for repeat violent felons to be on the street! Plea deals to simply clear cases need to be diminished, if not eliminated!

I would like to hear from prosecutors as to what we as a society need to do to deal with the issue!

I thought the comment about Worrell being the best public defender was telling! My friends in law enforcement cannot believe some of the deals cut to close cases!

I am not a prosecutor, much less an attorney, but as these crimes are mostly centered in urban areas; and urban areas are overwhelmingly Democrat controlled; and that these prosecutors are therefore elected Democrats; and Democrats rely on selected minorities to elect them; ergo, the prosecutors must keep their constituents from voting them out of office by “don’t make the black kids angry” with aggressive policies toward crimes. Coddling of criminals is necessary.

When the DA’s and Judges that allow their preferred animals to take plea deals to go out and re-offend, start pulling a Ray Gricar, the shenanigans will being to cease…
