Democrat-led cities such as Charlotte, North Carolina, that don't protect citizens on public transit systems should not receive federal funding, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy told Newsmax on Tuesday night.

Duffy appeared on "Finnerty" to discuss the recent fatal stabbing of 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska by a career criminal on a Charlotte train, and his department's investigation into transportation systems that receive taxpayer dollars.

"It’s not just Charlotte, it's New York, it's Chicago, it's Boston. It's others who failed to keep their riders safe," Duffy told host Rob Finnerty. "Again, they have these priorities where again, if you ride a train, it's for the homeless or it's for the criminals, not for the good people of your community. And so in this investigation, we're going to look and see how much their money is actually spent on law enforcement, keeping people safe.

"In this community, they have an honor system to get on their transit system. You're not forced to even pay. Those are the things that we look at.

"But I think every single American watching this show would say, you know what? My tax dollars shouldn't go to fund a transportation system like this or others that a 23-year-old girl who's coming home from work late at night can't get on safely and ride. If that's what they want to have, they can fund it themselves. But my tax dollars shouldn't go to a system that is [such a debacle]. That they won't keep these young people safe."

Duffy added that "the only equity we have is money at DOT with transit systems."

"We'll pull that," he said. "And by the way, we give a lot of money to local transportation systems. And again they rely on our cash. We're going to pull it if we find what we think we're going to find in this investigation"

The secretary said Zarutska's murder affected him greatly because he has "daughters the same age as this young woman who died in the train."

"We got here because we have liberal politicians, whether it's a DA, it's a city council, it's mayors, it's governors who don't stand up and fight for the people they're supposed to fight for, which is the people who probably, Rob, can't afford an Uber or a driver service like these liberals, or they don't have a car," Duffy told Finnerty.

"They have to take public transportation like this young girl did, and they don't seem to care about putting their safety and security first. They want to put the rights and the priorities of criminals and the homeless ahead of the good people of their community. This is shameful. This is evil. This is wrong.

"Thank God we have Donald Trump in office who says, you know what, you might live in a liberal city, but you live in America and every American deserves to be safe and secure on all transportation, including places like Charlotte."

Most people have zero situational awareness. We had a similar situation in Cartagena, Columbia last year. I was the only one of our group of eight that noticed the scumbag sidling up to us. That wasn't the only time others I was with were clueless, here or abroad.

I watched a fuller video....and I am sickened. The attack was very fast so I doubt anyone could have disrupted it. He initially looks like he is standing up and stretching (sucker attack incoming pre-contact indicator) and stabs her neck while grabbing her head with his other hand to stab and cut her a couple more times. He walks off dripping blood on the floor, another guy moves quickly past her and out of the area. There is a a little blood on her hands but nothing like movies. At about 20 seconds after the attack, she slumps in the seat and slides out of it onto the floor. Once she lands of the floor there is a rush of blood coming from where her head is behind the divider flowing toward the door. It is at the 40 second mark that you finally see someone approach her but the video I saw stops right there.

So yeah, no aid given, just a young girl dying alone on the shitty floor of a shitty train in a shitty city.

I am weeping as I type this. Do yourself a favor, don't watch the video.

I am going to collect myself and go to the range.

She gets stabbed in the neck three times and he walks off. She's in so much shock that she curls up her legs in fear, starts crying and without realizing she's been stabbed, slumps-over onto the floor.

It's really a shocking display of how easy it is to commit a murder, how this animal broke all social contracts in one action. Her first emotion is shock and tears, she was so overwhelmed by the suddenness of it all she didn't have any sense that she was wounded. All of this completely unprovoked and large swaths of national media is more interested (if they are at all) in finding excuses and trying to contextualize a sociopath committing murder

I have an 18 year old daughter that does not yet drive. She will be going to college next year and this attack and murder of Iryna chills me to the bone. My daughter has a good heart but she believes the world is like Stars Hollow on the Gilmore Girls. I have offered to take her to the range. I have offered to sign her up for Taekwondo with her brother. I'm really struggling with this one guys. I could use some prayers so that I can have the courage to speak to her about the real world and I pray for her to have courage to live in it.

Like many people who have been attacked, this girl never realized she was stabbed.
Many folks I’ve treated thought they were getting punched and only later saw that that they were actually cut

Some may have missed that Iryna was murdered on August 22nd. Not surprising that the powers that be sat on this, media and government. Do we know how this was exposed to a national/world wide audience?

This nation and it's violence/politicians are getting out of control. Only God can restore this nation if we ask for repentance but there is a plan in the works. Evil is becoming more and more prominent and not afraid to operate in the daylight. We have our "leaders" who fail us for their own benefit(s) and want to remove God in any shape or form so they can continue to do the bidding of their master. I hope and pray we can change or that Jesus comes back soon.

Had that been a black girl stabbed by a white guy it would have been BREAKING NEWS 24/7/365 from the very day it happened and we all know it.

Speak to her about it so you won't regret it later. I was the harsh dad that refused to let my teenage girl go with her friends to places they thought were safe but I know are sketchy. I protect my daughter and wife any way I can. We do not live in fear, but we live knowing that in reality there are people out there that will harm us.

We can turn back and away from the evil which is permeating what used to be called Western Civilization.

There is ultimately only one answer to this problem. That is an earnest return to high moral standards. Those standards used to be infused into the population via religious teaching. In that sense, on man’s immorality does damage the rest of society. Most times it is so indirect that connecting the dots takes more than passive examination and the will to recognize patterns. I’m old enough to see the exponential decline in morality in society. The young are not so advantaged. They only know a secular society and a cynical rejection of morality. It may be too late to reverse this.

Yes.

In the Matt Walsh video on the prior page he says: "The problem is it's not Black versus White, it's Black+ Democrats + Media versus White."
He also says it's a tiny fraction of young, black, violent offenders. We know who they are. We can get them off the streets and we can publicly execute them.

We used to believe in capital punishment, not just to punish the offender, but to protect society.
