Pretty incisive commentary here. The left isn't going to change, they're not going to concede anything. Their worldview is that they occupy the moral "right" in all things, and thus, cannot be wrong. Where does this leave us? Nowhere good, and I have no real conclusions to draw. I don't see much chance of a stand-down on their side.

On this, the day we laid Charlie to rest, I have a lot of complicated thoughts and feelings. There's no closure for me with this. I'm not sure what's right to say, or when. I don't believe he'd agree with me about how I feel about this, but then again, I didn't agree with him about absolutely everything... and it doesn't matter. I saw this scene referenced elsewhere, and it seems oddly appropriate. We on the right don't agree about absolutely everything all the time, but one of the best of us, one of the sharpest and kindest of us was assassinated as if he were pure evil to the applause of half the nation. All they succeeded in doing was galvanizing the other half.

A loud outburst is often attention getting, but the unseen and controlled power is on a most exponential magnitude of scale greater.

This is what a glimpse of that power is against all those who believe in the power of their noise.

Yep. This is a time to celebrate the life and memory of a great man who valued his faith, family, and country. Charlie wasn't an angry or vengeful guy, and I think he'd prefer that folks continue the movement in the spirit that he started it rather than turn it an quest for vengeance.

I've watched a couple of videos where Charlie talks about the death penalty. He basically says that if the death penalty is not applied, then we are dishonoring the victims, that we make the murders life more important than the victim. The murderer has already taken his own life when he committed the act.

edit to add a link. He answers a question at the 43:25 mark.

I believe what Erika Kirk said, was that she forgave him for the act of murdering Charlie Kirk, and depriving her of a husband and father to their children, but not the consequence, especially as it applies to the law.
And that does not and should not have any bearing on the legal ramifications.

And not to split nits or pick hairs, the only person who can truly forgive the crime of murder of Charlie Kirk is Charlie Kirk.

Only God can forgive the "sin" of murder, but that's gonna be an ask of the murderer with true contrition and honest heart.

That also, does nothing with regard to the consequences of the action.

And why people need to have a long think, well before they go about making choices they might can't undo.

Forgiveness allows the aggrieved to reach peace and closure so that they may move on. It does not absolve the one who wronged us for that wrong nor relieve them of consequences.

If you don’t forgive, YOU continue to suffer. The hurt and anger becomes overwhelming and consumes. It gives the one who wronged you continued power over your emotions.

You need not forget along with forgiving. Continued hate darkens your soul. Hate is not the opposite of love, they are strongly tied together.

Once you forgive, you can reach a place of apathy for that person. This will bring you peace. They no longer exist in your mind or your world, it frees you from thought and emotional energy on the person.

A remarkable day, quite frankly, a unifying experience for all those of us affected by the assassination.

The overwhelming reaction to Kirk's death has been, I believe, a shocking wake-up to leftists, not only in this country, but in much of the world, too. We know that they could not have expected the reaction this has brought about, because we, ourselves, could not have predicted what has happened in the last eleven days.

I have the feeling that we are witnessing, not merely the shock of the violent public murder of a well-known political personality, but also a true change in the attitudes of many people in this country, a change for the better, and an emboldening of the people.

I think leftists should be a bit afraid right now.

Amazingly with the left controlling mainstream media, the trend is toward truth winning. The left hangs their hats on the lie that they are the majority and are cheated out of their liberal utopia by obstructionist repubs, and their voters have bought it for a long time.

This period of revolution or of destruction of America from within may be about over, or we could go to a scorched earth new plan. I'd guess any lefty that is open to observing the phenomenon that CK and his death is, might realize the dems period of power may be winding down unless they do something radically different. The problem with them doing something radically different is twofold, they aren't capable of implementing it, and the time until fruition if they could is quite long.

I finished watching the whole thing about half an hour ago. Three things:

1. I’m normally stoic. I didn’t cry at either of my parents’ deaths. But my eyes watered periodically.

2. I’ve been to several funerals. What was missing, refreshingly for me, was the usual superlatives that people often say about the dead with the only exception being Trump but that’s his normal style. The lack of superlatives tell me what they said about him were true.

3. The people who spoke knew Charlie enough and they know who he was. I’ve never heard so many politicians mentioning Jesus Christ so much at one time. They knew how Charlie saw himself as.

I do have hope that Turning Point USA will continue to carry out its mission even without its founder and driver.

Rest In peace, Charlie Kirk.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." It was moving, inspiring, and gave me hope for the future. Mr. Kirk may have accomplished more with his death than he could have had they let him continue to spread his message. What was demonstrated today was amazing and I've never seen anything like it in my 58 years of life.

RIP Charlie Kirk.

The left has woefully underestimated the country’s reaction to their violence. The media, as usual, has been caught with their pants down as well; for years they gave an obvious minority a huge footprint as if the sentiment of leftists carried more weight of like minded creatures than actually exists. Young people at colleges across the country are NOT reacting the way they have been brainwashed into acting.

There was a larger number of Charlie Kirk supporters than they could have guessed and now the groundswell movement is in favor of the law abiding and righteous. The left is eating its own as is ALWAYS the case eventually. The tide is turning and the left is in open panic. The threads of their multiple false narratives is coming apart before their eyes. Momentum is in our favor and we need to capitalize on it. Keep shoring up voter laws. No proof of citizenship for in-person voting? No vote. Here illegally? You try to vote illegally? You get immediately jailed if a citizen, deported permit not. Your presence in this country does NOT affect redistricting. You celebrate murder and lawlessness? You get cancelled for your hate of this country.

The tide is indeed turning. Any “protests” you see nowadays are tiny, over represented, and seem to be comprised mainly of middle aged white people. Here is a small group that meets religiously every Thursday morning in town outside a Capito satellite office who is a strong supporter of President Trump. Take a close look and you’ll see who they are comprised of, at least in the eastern panhandle of WV. The weekly 10-15 people are about as big as the group gets. They get the middle finger from the wife and I every single week on our way back from the gym.

I’m almost for sure that I’ve seen the two females pictured above at Comers office protesting.

Leads me to believe they are likely paid protestors.

That is our suspicion as well. Martinsburg is a smallish town; none of these people look familiar in the slightest. We suspect they are at minimum from ultra-liberal Shepherdstown and Charlestown and most likely paid. Every week I am tempted to covertly and carefully following them to see where they’re from.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio Delivers Remarkable Tribute to Charlie Kirk

In a rather remarkable moment of intercessory faith, Secretary of State Marco Rubio delivered a tribute to Charlie Kirk filled with purpose and faith.

There were some very remarkable moments in the hours-long Christian affirmation for Charlie that took place yesterday in Glendale, Arizona; however, this testimonial from Marco Rubio is among the top tier.

Rubio begins with good natured humor; this cognitively breaks the psychological drag of recent memory and reorients the audience. Secretary Rubio then begins to speak eloquently about the impact of Charlie Kirk and the light he brought to a generation. Rubio bears witness.

Toward the end of his remarks, Secretary Rubio then enmeshed the truth of Charlie’s message to the life of Christ, and the immortal connection that binds a Christian nation in spiritual purpose. Like Charlie, Rubio has a gift.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Alisa Childers on the death of Charlie Kirk:

One more thing then I'm going about my day. I've seen many people say Charlie was killed because "someone disagreed with him." Or because "we need to learn to talk to each other." Or because "both sides need to come to the table." Make no mistake. The problem isn't lack of unity. The problem is that half our country is indoctrinated with an ideology that that sees the world through the Marxist lens of oppressed vs. oppressor. In that paradigm, the only goal is revolution, not dialogue. Not to mention, when words are seen as "violence," violence becomes an acceptable response to words. This is good vs. evil. Freedom vs. Tyranny.

------

Alisa Childers is a former Christian Contemporary recording artist, current author and Christian apologist with her own podcast.

For me, her statement above is the best, most concise summation of the battle we are facing.
