think it’s important I post this. Don’t let my post count fool you. I’ve been around a long time. I have been so thankful for this forum. Great mods, great people, always a place for knowledge. I’ve seen the births, the good times, the funny stories. Like the great battery scam for those who remember. However, the posts that always got me, the ones I remember, were about the loss of parents, especially the dad’s. I tried to comment on them all, I could simply not imagine the pain someone would feel. Now I know and I wish to god I did not. My dad passed away. He fought cancer till the bitter end and never broke stride. He worked up until a month within his passing and even after he retired (he was just to tired) he still wore a suit every day. He loved people, he loved his dog, and I know he loved me. He had to move in with my wife and I for the last year, we did our best to care for him, he knew he was loved. I know what’s coming when I post this. I’ve seen it all to many times, your sympathy is appreciated and I thank you. But, Let me ask you a favor, If your parents are still with us, Call them. Tell them you love them, talk to them. I go to call my dad every day and I just Can’t and that will never change. I would do anything to get his advice. 69 years old. Love you dad. My sincere condolences. I lost my dad in 1984, my baby sister in 2000, and my mom in 2002. All were very emotional experiences. My parents are buried next to her parents in a rural Arkansas cemetery; my sister in Phoenix, Arizona. I don't get to visit their graves very often, unfortunately. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth

I am so very sorry for your loss. I am grateful that my parents only lived 30 minutes away from me and I visited them every weekend. My dad passed away from a stroke 3 years ago and it was a terrible ordeal. I continue to go see my mom every weekend to see her and to help her with anything she needs done around the house. I am so grateful I got and get to spend so much time with my parents. I have also made sure to record voice conversations with them. Pictures are great, but there is nothing like being able to hear the voice of a lost loved one. If you do not currently have video or voice conversations of your parents, do it now as you will cherish it later. NRA Benefactor Life Member

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your Father. Dad and I have grown a lot closer since my Mom passed 10+ years ago. Mom was a phone hog and I didn't get a chance to talk to Dad much. We live in different time zones, but talk at least an hour a week, spend about 2 weeks a year together, have traveled together, and he even lived with me one winter (escaped the Upper Midwest's winter). I understand, been there, it sucks. I am sorry for you loss. The good part is that is that he lives on in the lessons he taught you and you teach your children and others you care about. Remember the good times, and cherish the time you had and the stuff you learned from your old man. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

I'm sorry for your loss, you were blessed to have that last year together. About 10 years ago I made the decision to call my dad more often. I have a 25 min drive to work and I started to call him on my drive in to work in the afternoon 2 or 3 times a week. Talking to him that often changed our relationship. There were no longer any big things to discuss so we talked about the little things. When we lost him a few years ago I did not have a sense of unfinished things left unsaid. I cherish that more than I can explain. I now talk to my mother at least every week, usually 2 or 3 times. Sometimes We will talk for just a few minutes to share a specific thing. Driving back from Mississippi last week we spoke for almost 2 hours and I can't really say what we talked about. I wholeheartedly share your sentiments. Call your parents often enough that there are only little things to talk about. Tomorrow is not guaranteed so do it today. “We truly live in a wondrous age of stupid.” - 83v45magna "I think it's important that people understand free speech doesn't mean free from consequences societally or politically or culturally." -Pranjit Kalita, founder and CIO of Birkoa Capital Management

Condolences. My Dad (95) passed 4 years ago. I tear up just thinking about and missing him. My Mom passed 3.5 years ago at age 93. I was advised "You get through it, not over it". Still working on the "through it" part. PCThis message has been edited. Last edited by: PCWyoming,

Much too young, sorry you lost him so soon. Your post caused me to look up my dad’s death; it’ll be 11 years on June 1st. I would have never believed it had been that long. Wish I could call, I’ve got a couple things I’d like to visit with him about. My condolences _______________________________________________________ despite them
