Wait, what? |
What they really need to do is make some kind of device that can throw the pucks at a very high velocity with accuracy because arms could get tired with repeated launches. To keep from tiring people out, someone should come up with a system whereby each puck has its own source of energy to propel it. Heck, might as well develop a multiple puck loading system for fast follow up launches. It would be even better to scale the pucks down in size as well as the launcher, making it easier to carry more pucks with you. But reducing puck size might make them too light to do any real harm. I know; make the pucks out of a dense material, perhaps metal of some kind. Instead of disc shape, perhaps make them with a round, tubular profile that can fly through the air with greater efficiency. Im gonna invent something like that...maybe call it “the scaled down, high velocity puck throwing device you can carry around and nobody can tell you have one with you” thingy. I’d be rich. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

I have a Glock puck. Maybe it was designed for this? This message has been edited. Last edited by: TSE, Calgary Shooting Centre

Well now they let the secret out and the next shooter will come in wearing goalie equipment. Duh.

Facts are stubborn things |
Gun Free Zones mean no shooter..duh. Why do they need pucks. Pucks are not designed to be thrown. When thrown, they rarely go straight. The ballistics of a hockey puck suck. If you want people to throw something, Why not use Billiard Balls. Ever get hit by a flying Cue Ball. Hurts like hell. And they are easier to throw. You could even put the University Mascot on them and then you can show you school spirit and die throwing a cue ball... Oops, I just introduced a little logic to an illogical solution to an easily solved problem. Do, Or do not. There is no try.

Maybe a boomerang for distance shots? If people would mind their own damn business this country would be better off. I owe no one an explanation or an apology for my personal opinion.

Perhaps if a Gretzky, Lemieux or Orr were doing the launching of said pucks they would be effective. The “POLICE" Their job Is To Save Your Ass, Not Kiss It The muzzle end of a .45 pretty much says "go away" in any language - Clint Smith

Still finding my way |
If it's so effective then let's start guarding banks and elected officials with pucks. Either guard our schools properly or reap what you sow.

I could see this being more effective if they are also trained to use harsh words when throwing these hockey pucks. ____________________________ NRA Life Member, Annual Member GOA, MGO Annual Member

Hockey pucks are meant to be propelled by a stick, not thrown. There are a few drills in my bag where I hand throw pucks at goalies and it takes a bit of practice to throw a hockey puck with any degree of accuracy. Even when shot with a stick pucks do not fly straight. They duck, dive, roll, curve, and rise unexpectedly as it is a spinning disk flying through space. They don't move in straight lines when flat on the ice either. Shoot at the net from the far goal line and watch how the track curves. The biggest problem with this "throw things at the shooter" is the belief that if an active shooter, an individual that is so pissed off or mentally unstable that they are willing to kill a lot of people and get in a gun fight with police, will simply run away if things are thrown at them. I'd guess they'll be more pissed off, and now your out of ammo because you threw your puck.
