Theres nothing nefarious, difficult, it's just an update yes there are a few changes like the liquid screen which isn't bad JMO, and you can turn it off if you don't like it.

I don't even notice it....

You cannot turn off the liquid screen. You can reduce its volume effects.

Edited to add:
I never typed “volume” in the sentence above nor did I type anything that could have been autocorrected to volume. Thanks Apple.

Wonderful that they messed with Safari yet again because everybody wants more crap on their screen other than what they actually want to see. What was wrong with the toolbar that automatically disappeared and popped back up with a slight down swipe? Why can’t the URL stay at the top? Why do I have to hide the toolbar for every new webpage?

Can you imagine if the auto makers pulled the crap Apple does? Congratulations, your car has been updated. We decided to move the steering wheel, the brake pedal, change and reorder all the letters for the transmission, add fun new colors to all your buttons and we hid the turns signals three menu levels downs since we found no one uses those anyway.

Security updates would be great, I don’t need the rest.

^^ Pretty sure they put the URL/Address Bar on the bottom so even with a large screen, one can simply click on it with their thumb to bring up the keyboard, especially considering we're all typing with our thumbs anyway! I kinda like it down there...Just sayin' Wink

Might be from playing guitar, but my thumb reaches the top just fine, but setting top for the URL loses a 1/2” of real estate at the bottom of the screen. Sure the tab bar appears there, it when it disappears the viewable portion of the webpage does not take its place. And the heck is this new bar with a check mark on the right with up and down carets on the left? Heck do I need that for?

I swear the keyboard is now 1/3 of the screen instead of 1/4, but that could be my imagination.

It would be great if the “hide distracting items” actually hid the Apple crap I’m asking to hide.

And my phone is noticeably slower switching apps.

Turning Reduce Transparency off fixed this.

I had 17 and the dire security warnings got the better of me. I wish I would have gone to 18 last a month ago. My wife severely dislikes 26 and just this morning my 15yo son told me he went to 26 yesterday and he wishes he hadn’t.

I am going to pass on 26.2. My phone is old enough to already be a bit slow. I do turn off all the gee-whiz stuff and close apps not in use, but it can still be slow at times.

My iPad is old enough it won't run 26.2, so it will be stuck with whatever version it has, which works perfectly well.

Not that i care for the eye candy. It’s a tool, not a home entertainment device. Wish i could strip it of all the BS and just keep what i decide to.

Proudly still rocking iOS 18 on my 15 Pro Max

Had to update to iOS 26 on my work-issued 14 and it SUCKS, no matter how many suggested tweaks or workarounds I've done from suggestions here.

I really wish Apple would offer a separate app that explains any new change, (besides security updates), and would allow you to choose if you want to make any changes. Sometimes those changes can be too intrusive.

The Google says:

To remove the item count (red notification badges) from iPhone apps, go to Settings > Notifications, select the specific app, and toggle off Badges. This removes the numbered red bubble while still allowing notifications to appear in the Notification Center. You must repeat this for each app.
