That was an expensive lesson. Expensive to me anyway.

They hit me up as a follow up to an ad for a Leupold 1.5-4 scope. I can’t believe I got suckered and didn’t search this up.
Just ask them for their forum username. If they can access your profile in order to get your email address, they're logged in. If they're logged in, they have a username. You can also ask them for their date of registration and then tell them that you're going to verify their account with the forum admin.

You guys should know better. Really, you should. You're not new at this. Forgive me, but it's the truth, and when these assholes get your money, it does one thing only- it encourages the shit out of them, and they keep coming back.

Be skeptical. Ask questions. Think with your head, not your wallet.

I absolutely should know better. Just like an AD, not if but when. When the voice in my head said something wasn’t right I asked their forum name. They said Silverbullet and I couldn’t find it. That’s when I started googling the email address. I even did a cursory email search before I pulled the trigger and didn’t go deep enough. Initially I was going the money order route and they gave me a mailing address which I’m sure is just someone that will get the mail for them which I’ll be happy to share should anyone want it. It’s out of New York, New York. I was stupid enough to fall for it and it will be a scar like reminder for the future. If I was on the forum more I probably would have noticed the thread.

I again received the email but with a different sender. I replied asking for 7x5 photos.
