I received a very similar one, only mine was for a “CSS” - the stainless 1894. Only web space I ever discussed this was here (not in the classifieds, though), but purchased it through GB.

Anyone else relate their message to something from GB?

I bought a stainless Beretta 92 frame off Gunbroker earlier this year, and my spam was Beretta specific.

I got one stating my Amazon Prime was up for renewal and my 'payment card' was invalid; kindly click on the link to update your card information. It had all the nice Amazon images and logos.

Too bad my Prime actually renewed a few months ago.

I may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night.

Samuel Jolly sent me an email asking if I was interested in his p229 357sig. Selling due to cancer. I asked for photos he sent pictures of a 40SW. He said he has both barrels I told him I'd like to see photos of both barrels and the top of the frame rails, we will see how much longer I can mess with him before he figures out that I'm not buying Jack from him. The only forum I use this email on is sigforum, so he had to get it from this forum.

They're registered here= Have access to your Public Profile. They read the classifieds and respond to people posting in classifieds threads.
I suppose that it was inevitable, after twenty years and almost ninety thousand registered members, that a scammer might register, posing as one of us, and try this stuff.

Sooner or later (hopefully sooner) s/he will be identified and access will be cut off.

Not the first problem that The Eagle has had to deal with, not his first rodeo, and I'm sure that it will be handled.

I just got one of those also. Unfortunately I don't have Prime, last time I tried it was about five years ago and cancelled it after the free trial.

Just recently I've started getting the porn/camera/Bitcoin scams again. Kind of entertaining, they want to "ruin" my reputation. On the password thing, the only place that password was used was Linkedin. I also received information from a couple of sources that my Linkedin account was compromised. I've since cancelled that account, my ex-manager wanted us to use it as "It is a great way to network with potential customers". Yep, every scammer from a multitude of third world countries.

Also could have hacked someones easy password to sign in under their account to get the email addresses.
May or may not be an official member.

Yeah, I've also received a few emails stating they know my password and show a password I used a long time ago. I figured they got that one and a few others from LastPass when it was hacked a few years ago.

I no longer use a password manager, use different passwords for every site and change them several times a year or when something suspicious comes up.

Getting that one as well. Plus another saying they have web cam video of me jerkin the gherkin. I DO have a web cam. But it sits mostly unused in a box other than when I plug it in so we can have the weekly Zoom meeting of our church group.

I received the email today. The password was one that hasn't been used for a couple of years.

If you get the porn blackmail demand, ask how much for a couple of 8 x 10 prints in nice frames.
