I think I read that their orgy dome got destroyed by extraordinarily strong winds. They vowed to rebuild it. Stubborn as pharaoh, a second plague visits. Will they tempt a third more firey plague?

The burn started going to shit 20 years ago. Living in Reno, no one here likes these people.

One person electrocuted & air lifted out while another person was found dead in a pool of blood (Link).

Dust storm with 80mph winds.

Torrential rains.

Burning Man...oh, yea! Keep coming back folks!

At the first sign of a rain cloud I’d be getting out of the area. What a mess, memories I guess.

Yup.
Every car wash (auto & self) is backed-up with mud
Dumpsters and garbage cans are filled not only with standard garbage but overflowing with all manor of tarps, coolers, clothing, cardboard, insulation, etc...
The airport has a a tinge of dust as the hordes of those flying in are covered in playa dust.
I-80 is littered with all manor of broken-down jalopies and 'fun-cars' on the side of the road broken-down
...and, local tow truck companies are loving it with the many calls that come in.

It's billed as an art event, but I never hear anything about what the art is like. The video made it look like just a week-long binge. To the ones who have attended, what parts did you enjoy? What was a bust? What should be tried again?

The advertisements keep pushing "simple", but that's not the term I'd use for an RV.

I'm never going, I'm just curious.

I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

The 'art' is modern, often times mobile, some are enormous where its construction would normally require permits and inspections by gov thus building it in the middle of the desert; mobile art isn't unusual but almost all the art pieces have a light and some a sound component. Most of the art comes from San Francisco/Oakland, SoCalifornia and Las Vegas...some of it gets reused at various art collectives, and a few become public installations. The rise of EDC festivals is directly connected to Burning Man as many of the attendees continue similar-vibes but in smaller doses.

There's no advertisement. There's no money exchanged for services but bartering, bicycling is the transportation as most motorized vehicles remain parked and everything has to be removed to include human waste.

This guy's vid can give you an idea. Just understand that the vast majority of activity is when the sun goes down, as the winds and temps reduce

I believe there's some neighboring Piute tribal land around it and there's been a few times the vocal parts of the tribe has attempted to get-in on the activities but, its Fed land managed by BLM

One of the dark and only spoken about in hushed-voices, is the prevalence of two-legged predators at the festival. While the event is supposed to be a libertarian-paradise of sorts, where nudity and drug-usage is open to include areas reserved for sex, that environment is also going to attract those who are unable to control themselves around others. I wouldn't be surprised if this person had stepped over some boundaries and vigilante justice was issued.
