We're playing this broken record again already?

They're like a toddler who learns a new word and can't stop using it.

(Even though they're using it wrong)

I hope he was pointing to his own deranged visage when he tweeted that post.

New Speaker, Mike Johnson is good! Great speech to the House and this shakes out as a hard working man. I never heard of him but I like him.

Exactly!
Don't forget censuring Tlaib, barring Tlaib briefings on Israel/Gaza, and removing Tlaib's committee assignments

I might anyway. Just like McCarthy, he can only afford a few defections on legislation. I think he has a lot of potential over the next 16 months and I wish him success. If Jeffries hates him, he's already good.

Here we are, having gotten rid of a liar, replaced with a true conservative, and you're looking for the worst you can find in this positive change. You were certain this was all going to end in disaster, whining about "no Plan B" but after things worked out quite well, all you had to say was the obvious- that he was "in place".

If there's no pleasing you, then no one is going to try, or even care. It sounds like you would have been content with "Hakeem" because at least he would fulfill your pessimistic expectations.

From this point, I'm not listening to a word you say on the matter. Have fun.

There is no more joyous sound than the gnashing and wailing of the dems who smugly voted with Gaetz to oust milquetoast McCarthy…..

Only to be replaced with the most conservative, America first speaker we’ve had in a hundred years.

It also speaks volumes to the never-Trumpers that the man tanked Emmer with a tweet or two.

Johnson delivered the most statesmanlike speech I have heard in a long, long time. He's a true leader.

I agree.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I agree. My only question is why did the Dems do it. They couldn’t possibly have thought someone less conservative was going to be chosen could they. It seems like they made a bad choice based on emotion which I guess is par for the course.

Here's something I think is amusing:
There's Trump saying "MAGA Mike Johnson", and it's clear that Trump's support sent Emmer down the drain and helped Johnson. Never-Trumpers will choke.
But Mike Johnson is talking decentralization of House leadership; "servant leadership"; and demonstrating himself to be a humble guy. In personality, that's sort of the opposite of President Trump, yet Johnson has supported Trump all the way.
That may REALLY drive the Never-Trumpers nuts. What do you think now, David French?
