I was amazed at how long, and how much material that car shed as it was being pursued. Seemed like the car with the dash cam was hitting a lot of debris.

I had the same thoughts on the smug little snot in the back seat. Nice demonstration of how you were raised from beginning to end. How much does anyone want to bet Mommy and Daddy will be furious over that and demand an answer as to why the officers tried to kill their son in that reckless PIT.

And maybe jail time.

Does the insurance pay if he totals his car running from the police?

While I haven’t read my policies carefully for years I think there is a clause that voids coverage if the vehicle is used during commission of a crime.

No worries, either he or one of his friends will start a Go Fund Me account.

I'm curious to see the damage to the patrol unit that executed the PIT. It appeared the suspect vehicle had a pretty solid impact with it after it spun into the barrier.

I always wondered who covers the cost of damage to the patrol cars after an incident like this. Suspect in the form of fines? Suspect's insurance if insured?

Seems to me that damage to patrol units, city/county/state property, or private property/vehicles should be paid by the suspect if convicted.

If they had simply stopped as the law demands no damage would have occurred.

ASP has certainly gotten a reputation for some incredibly long and high speed runs. There's got to be a balance between 90 on interstate and 120 down 2-lane roads past homes, hills and curves though, right? Those will occasionally end with a carload of meemaws exploded.

Very interested to hear others perspective/opinions/knowledge on this, but I believe some of the more urban jurisdictions have very strict criteria on when officers may pursue. They have to evaluate the risk to the bystanders in the pursuit versus the risk of letting the suspect get away.

That kid has earned some hard time. I hope he gets it.
There was a travel trailer he passed negligently on the right. Inside that truck I am sure are a couple that worked hard all their life to enjoy their dream of driving across the country with their RV.
That punk could have stole that dream and some kids grandparents.

He needs an asswhopping, and I mean a tied to the tree whipping and then some hard time. Fuck him and people that endanger others without the regard of anybody else.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Because of limited range of motion in my neck I can no longer get in a Charger, but that one, if it was indeed a Charger, looked like it was getting a little light as speeds increased.

I had a CVPI that did that and it wasn't fun at a buck 20 to feel your front end start to float. Mechanics eventually figured out it was missing some underbody shields, no doubt from being used as an ATV

Back in the "old days" the smug little snots often got clumsy as they walked to the patrol car.
