Next thing you know, she will want to re-arrange the carport, then change the decorations. "Yes, Deer."

Smile I wish she would just straighten it up!

No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

I'll bet the local reprobates don't mess with his house now, though Big Grin.

When I was 18 years old, I went to see a relative who was a cowboy on a ranch near Meeteetse, Wyoming. I slept in the bunkhouse with the others cowboys, and being summer, the bunkhouse door was left wide open.

There was a young male deer who had somehow castrated himself, on a barb wire fence? No one knew how, but I woke up in the morning with the deer’s nose in my ear.

OK thanks. I am always concerned about rabies and distemper with raccoons. So far it seems to be *acting* normal, just timid and likely scared.

I thought I was doing well offering it a little wet and dry dog food, I should give it live gold fish?

You totally were doing well, I was just messing around because they love to wash food and it’s excellent enrichment for them- crayfish would be a bit more interesting and maybe more natural. Cat food is probably better at least until you get the DNR involved, or do some more research on what’s appropriate. My dad had a pet raccoon forever ago as a kid. From what I understand it loved to wash its hands.

Maybe take a look online and see if there’s any issues in your county/area with rabies/distemper in raccoons. It’s smart that you’re cautious, and very kind of you to care for the little guy.

coons don't salivate well , so I was told, so the like to eat around water,

sis in law has a house overlooking the Appomattox river, she has indoor and outdoor cats, and coons,
they line up by the outdoor cat food bowl and share the meal with the cats,

they all stand around together, just hanging out and eating
