As a Giant's fan, that was a rough series...particularly Crawford's error/misplay.

Seeing position players having to pitch, while initially I'm crying managerial incompetence, I'm actually more encouraged as it forces players to not be specialists; it could still be manger's burning through everyone. Will base stealing, bunting and manufactured game-play come back...who knows. Roll Eyes

the A's have a better record than any NL team and they are on the bubble looking in, in the AL. Its gonna suck if they miss the 2nd wildcard playoff spot but some POS NL teams make it in. but thats the way it is.

Another debacle!

Rangers led 5-1 to start the 7th. Chris Davis hits a 3 run dinger to make it 5-4.

The A’s were down to their last strike in the 9th, 2 outs, man on base, when Davis knocks another home run to make it 6-5.

I have seldom felt so sorry for anyone as I did for the Ranger pitcher, LeClerc, standing there as Davis circled the bases.

And equally frustrating about this continued meltdown is that the performance of those players they might move in a trade are not performing very well either. Trade valuations are trending down.....

I am/was an Oilers fan too! FU Bud Adams!
At least Rangers fans have the Cowboys!

And yes the As are looking strong this year. And Mariners are right behind us too, no relief for my Stros.

Luv ya, Blue!

I may have been the only Charger season ticket holder to occupy my seat wearing an Oilers hat.

When Air Coryell lifted the Chargers to the top of the NFL, well, near the top, I dreamed how great it would be if the Oilers could become as succesful as the Chargers. I watched the drafts, the trades, the coaching changes and included in my daily prayers that the Oilers could be as good as the Chargers.

Sure enough, after a few years, they were. Both teams were lousy!

I lost all interest in pro sports a few years ago.

I realized that for me, the agony of defeat exceeded the thrill of victory, ie, winning felt good for a moment, losing felt terrible for days. And regardless if "my team" won or lost, it didn't change my paycheck. Smile

It also seems I have heard countless times, "we should have won, but the official made a bad call and we lost". Yet I have never once heard "we should have lost the game, but the official made a bad call in our favor and we won". Seems to me avid fans are unbalanced.

Indeed!

At home against the A’s they couldn’t hit themselves in the butt with both hands, now Odor goes 5 for 5, two home runs, fielding crisp and sure.... it looked like a different bunch of players caught the bus this weekend.

This is why managers get the big bucks, and get fired!

The Mariners only won game against the Angles in their series so only gained 1 game on the Astros. They are starting a 3 game home series against Houston tonight and have a shot to get within a game of the lead. Why do I have a bad feeling about this? Oh I know, history! Wink

I’d be more worried about being seen as dissing the country's foremost and respected law enforcement organization.

In these parts it simply isn’t done, and there is no reason to do so anyway.

Jimbo, if the Mariners cannot beat the Astro's at home with out their second baseman and SS they may loose every single game against the Astro's in the second half. Frown
I am a real pessimist when it comes to the Mariners. Comes with the last twenty years I guess.

I just need to keep telling myself this is about the best year we have had in almost a couple decades. I do like somethings about this team too.
