Couple boxes for each pistol, plus a couple mags for my AR's. Most of my rifle and PCC ammo is range ammo, but I'm trying to build up as I can find it.

I figure even FMJ 5.56 and 7.62 x 39 would ruin someones day though.

Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago.

A few years ago I won a thousand rounds of .40 Winchester Ranger on another site but the only gun I have for it is a G27.
I have adequate stock in 9mm and .556 unless we have a long term problem.

I have the following stashed away:
9mm

500 Speer Gold Dot 124+p
500 Winchester HST 124+p
500 Winchester HST 124
3500 Winchester NATO 124 FMJ

45acp

500 Speer Gold Dot 230

357 Sig

500 Speer Gold Dot 125

100-200 of about every other caliber I stock (357 mag, 38 special, 40 S&W, 380 acp, 32 acp, 300 blk, 7.62x51)

Probably have 300-400 69gr 5.56 OTM

That is all the defensive ammo, I probably have another 8k rounds of practice/training ammo.

If you can haul it all in a normal passenger vehicle (1/2 ton and smaller), you don't have enough. Wink

I do know that moving companies don't want to transport it. I also know that mostly filling a large SUV is a bit of a PITA.

For handgun ammo, I regard my hollow-points (Federal 9BP) as the defensive ammo and the cheap FMJ as practice. I could certainly press the FMJ into service in case of some wildly improbable "SHTF" scenario if I had to. But I have enough hollow-points to fill two magazines of my carry guns (one in the gun plus a reload). I don't keep track of the exact number. For my 5.56 rifle, I use the same 55 FMJ for both, and currently have ~300 rounds of that.

I lost count, over the last 20 years been fortunate to have funds to buy ammo, recently with this nonsense virus crap had some extra time on my hands and decided to organize all of it. Can safely say in the 1000's of rounds for most calibers, had to build shelves in storage room for stuff I forgot I had. But, still going to keep buying, don't trust the state of affairs and too much is never enough.

Not much self defense but I have thousands of rounds of range ammo.

Anyone else feel like the boating accident is beyond played out?

I’m pretty far behind a lot of you on defensive ammo. I have around 1000 rounds of various HP 9mm, most of which is 147gr Ranger-T or 147gr Gold Dots. That’s in boxes. I’d say I have another few hundred loaded in mags. I do have two cases of 124gr NATO ball ammo.

As for 5.56 I’ve only got a few boxes of Gold Dots and some TAP. I do have a few thousand XM193.

Everything else is a mixed bag. I’ve been focusing on buying range ammo in preparation for another panic so there are some calibers I might only have a hundred rounds of HP or so.

Range ammo is a different story. I have a lot of that. Enough that a few weeks ago I was cleaning out my truck and found 1300 rounds of 9mm that I forgot I’d bought.

A lot.

I'm not being vague because I think The Man is going to come take it... I'm being vague because I've lost count. Big Grin

I'm having to rent a Uhaul just to move all my guns and ammo into the new house in a couple weeks. Moving company that's doing everything else can't haul guns or ammo.

Not nearly enough, being that the stuff is kind of expensive here in Canada. But my goal is Para’s “enough for the rest of my life”, because screw ammo shortages.

Is it possible to have both enough and not nearly enough at the same time? Because that's where I feel like I'm at ammo-wise.

Serious question: is 124gr Nato and XM193 considered self defense ammo?
