Given the recent discussions on the smartest dog breeds, I'm curious what those here think are the dumbest breeds. I have my opinion that I'll gladly share from first hand experience (observations & interactions, not ownership thankfully).
In my opinion, the absolute dumbest breed of dog has got to be the Boxer. I have know several people with them and every one of the dogs have been dumb with some borderline retarded. My next door neighbor has one and it has to be the dumbest animal alive. If breathing wasn't automatic it would suffocate.
I've never encountered a boxer that has shown much intelligence. Now, I'm sure there are exceptions but I'm yet to run across any.
So...dumb dogs anyone?

Wife brought a red Doberman home that kept challenging my heeler over several weeks. the heeler choked the doberman pretty good. Put the stupid woozy dog in a pen and when she came to her normal self, she started it again. Suggested to the wife that she return the dog if she didn't want to dig a hole. So, based on a sample of 1, I'd vote Doberman.
I don't know about dumb... but I hate yappy dogs. Small-dog syndrome. We have one behind us that yaps at us every time it sees us. The dog's owner is Karen...
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

The 2 dumbest dogs I've ever met were both Dalmatians. Different owners and breeders. One of them was so mentally challenged that he would run into walls at full speed and if it saw something crawling on the ground, it would slam its nose into the ground in an attempt to kill it. Sadly he was eventually put down after multiple self sustained injuries.
I'm almost 75 years old & I've always had a dog ever since I was a little kid. Most were mongrels, but I don't think I've ever had a dumb dog. We've had labs for the past 30 years, and they seem to think that it's the humans aren't smart enough to do anything without their help.

In my experience, it’s my two favorite dog breeds. Chihuahuas and Maltese.
I really like both breeds, and have had a couple of each in my life, but my God, I could throw a stick out the window and hit five dogs smarter than them.

Perhaps, you didn’t read the question. The question was WHAT IS THE DUMBEST DOG BREED?

Short Pit. Cant swim - jumps in pool has to rescued x times . Chases 4 wheeler bite at tires gets run Over multiple times. Eats soft ball requires surgery twice. He drools big gobs of drool. Plays ball by putting the ball on foot and pushing down. Wont release the ball.
I had a female Rottweiler that was dumb as hell . She loved people , was great with kids , and was just an absolute sweetheart , but she was a dumbass . Great pet though ..

They aren’t dumb dogs. Like most breeds it’s down to the breeding. The Disney of yesteryear featuring material/product heavily focusing on this breed caused so many hucksters to try their hand at breeding, specifically inbreeding, and that breeds dummies. Dumb dogs is attributed to dumb breeding 90% of the time.
