They were never the same after that stupid series in London.

Looks like the Yankees have game 4 in the bag. I still think it’s great the Dodgers beat them 3 straight though.

At least it wasn’t a sweep. And while I dislike baseball in November at least they didn’t schedule a game on Halloween. That’s Pretty lame of MLB of trying to attract kids. They need to play more scheduled double headers during the summer. Like every Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July and labor day. That’s 5 extra days found for October right there and have the World Series over by 10/30. Maybe throw in some Sundays in August.

I dislike the dodgers so I’m pulling for Yanks.

I haven’t followed MLB for a long time, but when I saw Dodgers/Yankees…had to watch. I gotta say though, the pitching changes wear me down, especially the last three innings. Ironically I guess, I saw a story about the “Greatest Game Ever Pitched.” It was 1963 Braves/Giants at Candlestick. Warren Spahn throwing for the Braves and Juan Marichal for the Giants. Both starters pitched into the 16th inning, where Willie Mays ended it in the bottom of the 16th with a walk off home run. San Francisco 1, Milwaukee 0. Spahn threw 201 pitches in his losing effort. Marichal threw 227 to beat him.

Pitch to one batter, call for the left hander. Depending on how he does, maybe finish the inning, maybe call the bullpen again if he gives up a walk or a base hit. More commercials, followed by more commercials. Oh, and advertiser’s logos projected onto the pitcher’s mound. Now a German clothing company gets its name on all the batting helmets (postseason). I guess that’s the way it goes.

MLB, Greatest Game

Warren Spahn pitched 382 complete games. Marichal had 244 complete games.

Exciting conclusion to the ‘24 WS. Dodgers battle back from being down 5-0 in the 5th and down a run after 7 to score 2 in the top of the 8th and take a 7-6 lead. Dodger pitching held the Yankees scoreless for 6 more outs. Not a great 7 game nail biter, but hey.

TMats, rules have changed re relief pitchers. Bring in a reliever and he has to face a minimum of three batters. A nice change for sure!

Congrats to LA!!

Shame some people take to the street and damage property in the name of a sport accomplishment. We need to focus that this activity isn't all sports fans, just a few idiots, interesting that the bus is covered in gang tattoos.

Back in 2020 when LA won it was COVID, so at least the CA restrictions saved city money from having a bus burnt to the ground. Razz

Heck of a game, I don't watch base-a-ball all year, at least since I was a kid following the Big Red Machine and getting to go to Cincinnati for a game was a treat, but do watch the WS.

Was last night a Karma game for NY with all those errors resulting in getting LA back in the game? Perhaps a bit of payback for the stupid actions of two fans assaulting a player.

Who knows but have to say I'm glad NY lost after that, and the fact the the final pitcher came out of my hometown high school Alma Mater is a good thing..
