I have a sea dweller and would not trade it for the world. Good height, slightly taller than a sub. Weight is solid. Good heft to it. I know it is not the specific model you are looking at. I would choose this over the deep sea again.

It's my grail watch and I've had for two months. All others sit in the safe now.

Im a big guy and the seadweller is all I can handle. I ahve tried the deep sea on but its just too high for me.
Beautiful watch and others wear it just fine.
Congrats on finding one.

I've had my DSSD for over ten years and it still keeps very accurate time, as, indeed, it ought to. The only downside, in my experience, is the relative vulnerability of the high-polish case side to scratching, and the extortionate cost of the servicing here in UK about four years back.

I'd rather not say how much, but it was into four figures when converted into dollars.

That guy was a trip. He made a lucky guess, and then kept the watch in a safe deposit box for 50 years.

It's my favorite Rolex. I have large wrists so a Submariner looks like a woman's watch on me. This has a similar look but it's much beefier.

Just make sure you like the heft. If you wear automatics all the time then I'm sure you will easily adapt but if you're used to digital watches the weight might be a problem even more so than its size.

I got on the waitlist for a JC or SD43 last May, dropped by the AD about once a month to check in and they finally called me to offer the SD43 about three weeks after I had bought my JC gray market. I could have flipped it the next day for a tidy profit, but told them to sell it to the next guy on the list.

Well1147,

I have both a Deep Sea Blue and SD43. Awesome in every way. These Watches are overly engineered and stunning pieces. I have a couple subs as well and they have different weight and balance aspects given the size difference. I highly recommend them both, Deep Sea or SD43, however in my opinion, you should have a wrist size of 7.5” or greater. Good luck.

Great watch, but too big for my small wrist. I worn my BLNR today. My sub usually gets 99% of my wrist time though. Love em both. You will enjoy it I'm sure.

Congratulations on a beautiful watch.
I had a chance to pick up a James Cameron DeepSea at an AD in the Cayman Islands in 2020 while on a cruise, one the last to go before the shut down.
I turned it down because I had just purchased a Tudor Black Bay GMT a few months earlier.
Big mistake, I should have bought it.
