So yes I was in the wrong on this. The members here have always been helpful when I have had questions in the past. As I have also been helpful to members who in the past have asked questions. Sorry Para for angering the forum over something as a stupid as a this. "da evil Count Glockula."-Para

You're one lucky sumbitch, because if you hadn't apologized, I was going to yank your posting rights. You took far too long to own up. No points awarded.

I'm late to the party, but I did have a minor SQ mishap when I purchased mine. I will say that I was highly influenced by the positive recommendations here. Almost 2 years ago now I bought a new SQ TC5 to replace my Whirlpool Cabrio that was puking water all over the floor. I got it home, set it up, ran a test cycle and went to take a lunch break. I returned to find A LOT of water all over the floor of my laundry room. I checked connections and eventually removed the front panel from the washer. I immediately noticed that both the hose clamps on the lines coming from the pump had been placed over the hoses and never tightened down at the factory. I tightened the hose clamps and it's been perfect since. I was annoyed by the issue, but I get it, things happen. I made mention of the hose clamp issue when I did the warranty registration later that afternoon. I was polite in my comment as it was just a simple oversight on the production line, likely on a Friday afternoon. I asked for nothing. I just wanted SQ to know about it. I received no email response from SQ, but about 2 weeks later they sent me a check for $150. Hater of fun since 2001!

That’s pretty solid Customer Service and Customer Retention. They didn’t blow it off as a thousand+ other companies would have. -------- After the game, the King and the pawn go into the same box.

I agree. I'll buy another SQ washer if the time ever comes and I'm planning on buying one of their dryers too when my ancient Kenmore decides to finally crap out. Hater of fun since 2001!

So I’m very late to the party, but I didn’t really see, in skimming, where anybody just said “the first thing you do is register the damn thing”. It comes with a warranty card, but it’s better to just scan the little icon and register it on your phone or manually on a desktop right then and there. That happened with a Maytag I bought. It didn’t work right, called the company, they sent a tech over free of charge, replaced a faulty board, good to go, no problems ever since. Not sure why all this drama, other than the OP obfuscating his apologies until his feet were held to the fire. I’m surprised the store took it back, once you have it it’s between you and the manufacturer, usually.

I'll add my .02. Our 20+ year old front load Kenmore wouldn't drain in Dec 2024. My wife bought it right out of college before we met, in about 2003 or so. We went to the big box stores and found a set for about $800 ea, delivery in a few days. I conned her into going to the SQ dealer after we left Lowes. She will ONLY consider front load washers. It is what it is, so I don't argue. She freaked out at the price, about $2,000 EACH (FF700 & DR700). The only way I could talk her into buying them was to commit to re-doing our laundry room. She reluctantly agreed. We ordered them a few days before Christmas and they finally came in mid-March. She was NOT happy about the wait. Not sure why, as I'm the one who had to go to the laundromat to do the laundry with out kids for 2+ months... Anyway, the dryer made a helluva racket when we ran it. We had to shut the door to the laundry room when we used it. After 6+ weeks I finally called the repair folks. They were quite surprised we had an issue. When the tech came he said they almost NEVER get repair calls for SQ. He took the panels off and found a wiring harness that wasn't fastened correctly. It was vibrating against the side panel I believe. He screwed it in place and it was much quieter. Yes, it was a defect form the factory, but SQ fixed it for free under warranty and I'm expecting many trouble free years of service from it. Nobody is perfect. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Between 1977 and 2026 Laundry equipment experienced an average inflation rate of 0.89% per year. Compared this to the overall average annual inflation rate of 3.53% during this same period. I wonder how they pull that off? Speed Queen costs more. Are they perfect? Of course not. But let's all be honest about the economics of quality. Example: A laundry machine costing $500 in the year 1977, adjusted for these inflation rates -- 0.89% per year = $770 in 2026 3.53% per year = $2,736 in 2026 https://www.in2013dollars.com/...ment/price-inflation
