She says her goal is to make sure that Trump never is president again. She will be unemployed in Jan and unless she's hired on as a network consultant, she has no direct ability to achieve her goals. She does have a couple of other avenues.

1. She needs to run and win the Republican nomination to do that, she needs to compete and win primaries. She has no national draw and she's not presidential material solely for her impeachment vote and Jan 6 committee work. There's nothing presidential about her and if it wasn't for her last name, she'd never get a second look but getting the nomination would be one way.

2. The other way is to support someone running against Trump. Right now it looks like DeSantis has the best chance but she's soured on him too. She previously said, he was dangerous and it would be difficult to support him. Support someone who could beat Trump seems like a logical thing if she can't do it outright but she's already hating DeSantis.

3. This is all bluster so she can raise money for her PAC. She raised about $15M in the last election (mostly from outside WY) and only spent around half of it. She can raise money for something else down the road but she really doesn't matter in national politics.

4. She'll sign a rich TV contract based on her bluster and make money that way and give up on politics.

After landslide primary defeat, Liz Cheney announces new anti-Trump group, says she's 'thinking about' WH bid

Being a Cop for a long time, one of the things I've learned is:
"Follow the Money"

That being said- She put's up a half-assed campaign, hits he Campaign Circuit, a few dozen fundraisers... Yeah, there's probably a few that still like /loyal to /need to show some sort of allegiance to them that will show up to these $1000+ plate dinners (fundraisers).
That's all in her Campaign Fund for her election, be it $1000, $100,000 or $1,000,000.
She looses the election ( Big Grin )

Whatever is left over in her Campaign Fund after the bills are paid, goes into her pocket.

Like I said, put up a half-assed campaign, how much do you think she's going to pocket?

Pocket? I didn't think one could simply pocket his millions in campaign donations.

Legally I thought the way to do it is create a PAC or something and siphon the funds of for travel, "campaign" expenses, etc. Just claiming all the millions left over from a campaign right into your bank account for your own personal use? Hmmmm, I don't think so.

Don’t forget the old trick of having a book ghostwritten and having your campaign buy 50,000 at full price to give away (half the time “forget” to give them away).

Yep. There are legal ways to launder it, but they can't just pocket it.

Lizard Chenery will find a way. Just as she managed to increase her net worth over $36M in the 6.5 years she's been in congress. Corrupt RINO grifter Roll Eyes Eek

She got played hard.

Yep. Americans will support anything other than a loser. And Liz is a loser of historic proportions.

Let's see- Liz Cheney. Dick Cheney.

Is there anybody in that family who isn't an asshole? Just curious.

Is there a Mrs. Cheney, perhaps? Matriarch of the clan; graceful, refined, and not an asshole?

Doesn't matter, even if she wins by 1.4% now. AK's non-partisan primary system has the top 4 vote getters advance to the general election in Nov.

First election that we've had this. Top 4 vote getters in the primary go to the general election. Then it's a ranked choice voting system where you rank candidates from most desirable to least desirable.

Right now I'm looking at it and not liking it. We have a special election to fill the remainder of Don Young's term in addition to yesterday's primary. The democrat Mary Peltola is leading with 35% of the vote. Republicans Palin with 31% and Begich with 21%. So yes, a representative gets elected and sent to Washington while only receiving 35% of the vote.

It was my understanding though that if Begich drops out, all his votes go to the number two on his voter's choices. That would seem to indicate Palin.

Not quite that simple. Here's the explanation that I was able to find on the state's election website. Really wonder in practicality how it will work going back through ballots and re-evaluating 2nd and 3rd choices.

quote:
How are votes counted in the ranked choice voting general election?
If a candidate receives a majority of 1st choice votes (50%+1), they win.

If no candidate receives a majority, the candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated and voters that ranked the candidate as their 1st choice have their vote counted for their next choice. This process continues until one candidate receives a majority of votes.

Alaska State law allows up to 15 days for an absentee ballot to be received after Election Day, ensuring voters from Rural Alaska and overseas have their voices heard. In order to allow each vote to be counted before the next round, only first-round results will be reported for the first 15 days following an election.

If Liz thought she was still a player she would've run for the Congressional seat as an independent (like Murkowski did for her Senate seat in Alaska) and set up a run for a Senate seat from Wyoming at some point in the future. A POTUS primary bid is at best a hail mary play and at worst an admission that all she can do is screech about Trump.

I think ol' Liz has shot her bolt, at least for a while and barring wildly unforeseeable circumstances.

It's just some shit her asshole daddy told her to say, thinking it would be a way to get under the skin of Donald Trump but Trump knows what we all know- she did herself in and she is permanently damaged goods.

Nepotism is the only reason we know this silly bitch's name. She demonstrated how bad of a fuckup she is when they handed her the ball. Yesterday's news is what you are now, lady.

She's not running for jack shit. Can we stow the fear-mongering, please? She's a zero, but some of you guys are actually taking her bullshit seriously and running scenarios where she screws us up. That's damn silly.

She is Dick Cheney by proxy, just an agent representing the former V.P.

Daddy tells her what to do, to say, to act. And now Dick is a distant memory, no longer a top dog in the Republican Party. Since Trump, RINOs are now being outed and discarded. He's fading away, and so will Liz.

Have no fear she will find a way to launder all of those campaign funds and line her pockets.

But she’s toast as a politician and as a liar on record who would ever trust her?
