When I was first married, my wife was upset that a colleague at work had been "lewd" to her. I recommended she discuss it with HR which she thought was unnecessary. It took a bit to unravel that she meant he had been "rude" to her. L and R so difficult for native Japanese speakers. Oh well. Cry me a liver.
