Couldn't agree more! jimmy123x, sending her to Disney wouldn't help, they'd probably ship her back after an hour or two of Where is it? What if? What if? Regards, Will G.

jimmy, I knew that! On another note taking from what para mentioned $$$$...I noticed on one of the networks that they were also emphasizing that "You know folks, being too focused with this landfall, you know that it's got to come out someplace and folks need to be prepared along the west coast as well" I can picture the same panic up and down the west coast as well, gasoline, hardware, grocery, etc...it's quite a boon salvaging a bit of lost Labor Day revenue all over the whole state. I'd love to see the shopping $$ total revenue picture for these mad rush shopping! Regards, Will G.

The update this morning is holding for it to reach the Stuart, FL area. The Disney world post just reaffirms how idiotic or ignorant people can be in regards to a hurricane. The guys entire family is head over heels to take a bunch of toddlers right into the face of the storm, come hell or high water when you had your entire house blown down in Hurricane Andrew which was the same strength, with you in it. I have impact windows and doors, a new roof, etc. I also stay put for storms but am 1/2 a mile West of the beach.....But anything over a Category 1, I still get worried. And, for a Category 4 or better, I would probably leave and fly to somewhere that doesn't get hurricanes to weather it out. I don't think it really is a boon for stores because, yeah the the stores sell a bunch of gasoline and water and home stuff right now. But people would buy that stuff (water/gas) anyways sooner or a few days later. The other side of the coin is many people are out of work for several days and not shopping and buying other consumables. You have a week of people not buying anything at all after the rush. Labor day weekend is a huge selling time for malls and stuff and they won't be selling anything in most of Florida this weekend.

I'm just waiting for the local weather nuts to start making references to a category 5 storm to max the panic further. This morning some have already made reference to this "slow down" of movement that would further strengthen it as a possible stronger category 4, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they toss this category 5 threat loosely out there. Not surprised in the least and probably not the only time it will be referenced before this is all over. I overheard a reference to hurricane Andrew this morning, I don't know if they were making a comparison or what. I was a direct hit with Andrew in 92' living here a mile or two from the water in Cutler Ridge now called Cutler Bay. Still live here and it would suck big time to have any kind of similar repeat, though my thinking is that this is a farther north storm, Palm Beach, maybe Jupiter somewhere in that area. We'd still most likely get nasty weather and Tropical Storm gusts down here. Regards, Will G.

The states in full prep mode now, Governor is on TV with the appropriate staff positioned behind him and the translator for the deaf right there BTW does anyone not have CC on a TV, do deaf people not use CC option already for TV shows without someone signing, back to the Storm.... Current tracking has it coming ashore north of Miami around Ft Lauderdale area as a 4 and turning North up the center of the state right over Disney and Whorelando as a Class 1, which means a lot of rain and wind. The big issue is speed, if it stalls or gets slowed down over the state flooding is a big time issue as well as downed trees and power lines. It could turn and miss the state, cross right over and go to TX, LA, Panhandle, all are possible outcomes, you just have to prep for the chance it comes at you.

Ex-Canadian Prime Minister wants Mar-a-Lago hit! https://www.usatoday.com/story...mar-lago/2161886001/ I take violent exception to her statement! My condo is just down the coast fro Mar-a-Lago and would suffer the same fate. She has wished destruction of my property and possible loss of life on me. That is a threat of terrorism to me. And,yes, I take it personally... No quarter .308/.223

Now in Florida |
I'm getting flashbacks from Irma - days before they kept showing it hitting Miami and moving Northwards up the Atlantic coast of Florida. But each successive update shifted the track further to the west until Naples got a direct hit. Now with Dorian, they keep adjusting the track of the Hurricane south from Daytona to Vero Beach and now to Palm beach. If it keeps up like this, we're going to have to start to worry.

The slowing down of the track is going to be a boon for Generator sales - gives them more time to ship them down here. I was at Lowes in Sanford FL this AM and saw 10 going out the door, they had a shipment in of 120 overnight. I wonder how many of these will comeback unopened after the storm?

We are on the Central Ridge of the FL NW Coast (elevation 80 feet) where the current probability of 50 mph gusts stands at around 35% per NOAA. This area of Citrus County has never, ever, had even a suggested evacuation order. So late yesterday afternoon my wife decides to fill her car's tank which was dangerously low (3/4s full). She waited a half hour in line to accomplish this vital task. She listens to the Tampa TV stations who have her convinced that Armageddon is at hand.
