This storm is unbelievable, it just keep hanging around like a bad dream. Enough is enough, move on please. They've had the same model consistently now for quite a long time. I understand that it needs something to steer it and it's currently in limbo. I'm looking for the 2pm timeframe to see if it actually is on the move. I check in from time to time being a little overly cautious. Forecast models have been wrong in the past. They are however getting better over the years. I'm probably among many Floridians who are anxious to see this thing move north and stay off the coast. Good riddance. Regards, Will G.

Just checked and I see the forecast has it going to, wait for it... CANADA! Yes, parts of Canada northeast of Maine are now in the cone of uncertainty.

Local radio station call in program: people whining about all their inconveniences now that the storm seems to not be threatening. Mo-rons! ____________________

And next time a hurricane comes, they won't take it seriously and get their asses kicked! That seems to be the cycle around here.

Well, according to the National Hurricane Center, it's only moving at 2 mph. It ain't going anywhere anytime soon. _________________________________________________________________________ “A man’s treatment of a dog is no indication of the man’s nature, but his treatment of a cat is. how does it work , down there? does every man woman and child set aside $8,000.00 a year to either prepare for the hurricanes, repair from the storm or evacuate from the storms? are home owners paying $3,000.00 per month for insurance ? and the companies gladly shell out dough every year? Thank you Very little |
Lots of folks with long weekends, prediction is that most of the snacks, supplies have been eaten and the alcohol drank, thus leading to weight gain state wide, we could tip over. Possible increase in the states population in 9 months...

I'd be interested to find out, 40 weeks from now, just how many babies born at that time are given the name 'Dorian'. I'm betting there is a statistically significant uptick. - Bret

Doubt it. Not creative enuf. If it is a bad storm it really marks them. People named Katrina catch hell around here even though they were born before 2005.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Same thing the farmers in Iowa do, or the dairy farmers in Wisconsin. Federal government. Some people really make it BIG after a storm, others more are self reliant and are left penniless. Subsidies from Uncle Sam.

Non-Miscreant |
Bad news for those predicting a birth uptick. Most of the Floridians are too old to have sex, much less get knocked up. All those Yankees you expect to be fertile are way past that point in life. When was the last time you saw a 60+ year old retiree "with child"? If you did, the child was the great grandchild. Unhappy ammo seeker

At least at that it's better at a crawl than sitting stationary pounding on them. That was at least the one saving grace of Hurricane Andrew is that it was a compact storm and clipped over us at close to 20mph, thank God. Regards, Will G.
