Lawyers, Guns and Money |
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

The metro area is why Minnesota is a blue state. Outstate and suburbs been voting republican for sometime just not enough voters to override the metro areas and of corse the votes the Dems carry around in trunks of cars which is how Franken got where he is anyhow. Yes, but the Range pushed the numbers over the top. Not sure Ellison could pull that off.

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/12/0...nator-denies-it.html Here are the Democratic senators, mostly women, who have called for him to step down: Dick Durbin on Illinois Patty Murray of Washington Kirsten Gillibrand of New York Mazie Hirono of Hawaii Claire McCaskill of Missouri Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire Kamala Harris of California Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin Debbie Stabenow of Michigan Bob Casey of Pennsylvania Joe Donnelly of Indiana Sherrod Brown of Ohio Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota Ed Markey of Massachusetts Michael Bennet of Colorado Patrick Leahy of Vermont Maria Cantwell of Washington Dianne Feinstein of California In addition, Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, also said Franken should resign. Drudge says the list is up to 22+ senators Franken will make an announcement on Thursday.

He was on SNL when it was still funny, and he was not funny. That is some kind of achievement-- in reverse. ______________________________________________________ "You get much farther with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone."

Thank you Very little |
My guess is on why the D are eating their own Frankin and Conyers is that they don't feel threatened in losing any seats. They both are from liberal D strongholds so any appointed replacements will be D and like any new representatives will follow the party line. The point of the sacrifice of Frankin and Conyers is to show the party doesn't tolerate sexual predators in order to try and sway the senator election in Alabama, trading two pawns for one Knight is always a good deal. Conyers was on the way out anyway at 81, Frankin isn't much of a risk and won't quit. The D want Alabama badly, and anything will be done in order to win that seat including giving up a few minor players that mean nothing.

Not just the Alabama seat, they are going to run on the theme that the GOP is the 'party of abusers'. Let 'em. Except for one obscure congressman, all of the sitting politicians accused of sexual abuse are Democrats. Nor does the wave of 'name and shame' seem to be abating.

Too late. Roy Moore is going to win. The Dems can just suck it.

Go ahead punk, make my day |
And it's funny how most of the men on the D side of the aisle are quiet - hoping that their sexual skeletons will remain buried. IE, the don't want to spark anything in their past. Like some in Hollywood who spoke out against Rapenstein and then were blasted by people they had abused in the past.

a nasty story from one of Conyers accusers http://www.breitbart.com/big-g...ted-sexual-advances/ A former female intern for Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) said that the Michigan Democrat brought up murdered Federal Bureau of Prisons intern Chandra Levy when she rejected his sexual advances. Courtney Morse, 36, the latest woman to come forward accusing Conyers of sexual misconduct, informed the Washington Post that the congressman told her one night he was interested in having a sexual relationship with her and held her hand in her lap on the way home. Morse said that when she turned down Conyers’ advances, he referenced Levy’s case. “He said he had insider information on the case. I don’t know if he meant it to be threatening, but I took it that way,” Morse said. “I got out of the car and ran.” Levy disappeared in 2001, and police found her remains in a Washington, DC, park in 2002. A police investigation at the time found that Levy had been having an affair with then-Rep. Gary Condit (D-CA). Morse also claimed that Conyers gave her gifts and asked her to have dinner with him before he made the sexual advances. She added that she quit her summer internship and moved back to Ohio after the incident.
