I finished watching it...it's an excellent documentary, and hard to watch.

I think the woman in the video, Jenny, who appears to have turned a lifetime of drugs, etc. around put it pretty succinctly...of all the people in her life that she knew with drug/mental health problems that actually recovered/got straight: 2.

And yet, with all this staring them in the face, and the continued wastage of a once-great city...they continue putting the same misguided idiots in office. Perhaps that's a form of 'voter addition.' Until they're voted out, the downward spiral will continue.

In any event, well worth a watch.

It just proves that the left will not change their direction even when their society is breaking down and being destroyed.

If they get control of the whole country, God help us.

Frankly the rock-throwing incident that prompted that call is EXACTLY what needs to happen; give each one of those imbeciles on the council a REAL, in-their-face taste of the hell that they're propagating. Yet sadly, even then most of these fools still may not get the message.

Kill whitey! Roll Eyes

Christopher Rufo comes through with more insight into what's going on with academia and the poison that rules the minds of elected and academic officials: Critical Race Theory. Kill it immediately when it shows up in your community.

Unless there is a change of course, this new orthodoxy — gradually replacing academics with activism — will yield an educational disaster. School districts will aggregate students on the basis of identity and subordinate traditional learning to the latest fads from woke academe. When those inevitably fail, desperate teachers and administrators will be tempted to drop the old “three Rs” (reading, writing, arithmetic) in favor of the new: racism, racism and racism.

In this sense, the educational woke regime mirrors the corporate one in function: All this ideological garment-rending and chest-beating serves to disguise the social and material failures of institutions. Teachers can ostentatiously “bankrupt their privilege” in front of their colleagues, but it will do nothing for third-graders who are struggling to read or graduating high-school seniors who can’t solve a single algebra problem or compose a legible sentence.

Sadly, if past is precedent, the racial fever gripping Seattle schools will soon spread to the nation.

A few years ago at our annual faculty training, college in Silicon Valley, the College Pres' hand picked student reported on his recent diversity conference in wDC. "I learned it is more important for a student to gain political clout while in college than it is to gain marketable skills".

I once had a student complain to the Dean he wasn't doing well in my class (and as the prof, it was my fault). He had poor attendance, poor participation, did poorly on quizzes, homework and exams. But he had a right to pass the class, otherwise I was discriminatory.

I watch this, and I can only pray that it doesn't come here.

So far, it seems unlikely. While Orlando, and the surrounding towns, are largely led by democrats, they aren't insane. The money that drives the engine here comes from Disney and Universal, and Sea World, and the Convention Center, and the Tourist Area.

The monied interests that own and run those attractions don't want us to be what Seattle has become, and make that very clear to legislators and administrators. They will support democrats, even prefer them, but they won't permit anarchy. It's bad for business.

So far, so good here, but we must be vigilant, and never let the guard down.

The creation of "Ethnic" and "Women's" studies classes came as a direct result of Leftist led physical attacks on college campuses, where they literally took facilities as hostage and denied the universities the ability to do business (ie: Educate those that paid for an education). The demands for classes that preached dogma could only be met by hiring "experts" in those fields that just happened to be the very protesters who'd run these "acts of civil disobedience", had no real world experience, had spent their entire lives inside academia, and zero concept of how to survive outside the world of the ivory tower. By caving in to these radicals' demands, look where we are now: We've got these same idiots attempting to run cities, counties, states, and the nation, using the same dogmas that have proven unsuccessful worldwide, but how would they know when being isolated from that world (by campus fencing) has denied them the reality the rest of us cope with every day?

IIRC you are from So Cal. The public ed system in CA is now run by reincarnations of Goebbels, and is designed to demean the US founders and founding principles. I saw it as a parent and as an educator.

President S.I.Hiakawa stood up to these clowns either '68 or, '69, getting into it with them, even getting up on stage and pulling the cords on their speakers. Unfortunately, after pressure from higher up, he relented.

I laughed at the DA saying he was not prosecuting "mothers for taking baby formula". Seems that is actually a thing (popup warning).

I was sitting outside of a Togo's early evening after purchasing a sandwich, next door is a Safeway. A Mercedes pulls-up and out jumps a guy who runs inside; the Mercedes with driver is just sitting there letting it run. A minute later the guy is hustling out the door towards the waiting car with 3 employees and a security guard chasing him, in his arm is a case of Enfamil as he's trying to do a snatch and grab. The car takes off, employees get license plate, who knows if police ever caught them...DA probably let them go on a diversion plan Roll Eyes

Exactly. Colorado, New Mexico, MT, and soon AZ. Cancer spreads.

This is where I politely tell you guys to piss off. I’m from Washington and I’m looking to leave. My family is as conservative as it get as are many families in Washington. I live west of the cascades and the county I live in voted 100% republican.

Don’t judge us all for the sins of the 2-3 large counties in this state, there are a lot of good people left here but we are out numbered when it comes time to vote.

I have an exceptional resume and I’m having a hard time finding a job in a red state, lots of offers in Washington and Oregon but basically none in a red state because people like you guys think we are all leftist turds.

Maybe you will see a few more Washington plates in your neck of the wood soon, don’t worry there’s a good chance the people will be just like you or maybe better, not willing to write someone off because of a license plate.

I did periodic volunteer work at a non-profit food bank, when we filled the shelf with Enfamil, we were told to use a magic marker to cross out the barcode on each can, as people would get free Enfamil from the food bank, then take it to the grocery store to get a "refund".

Seattle asked for this with the way they voted. All I ask is they build a wall around their shit so they have to live with their choices and not let that spread and contaminate the rest of the country.

Yes. But do they connect the flash with the bang, to they realize their choices caused their problems?? Or do they blame others?
