Great, these dolts want to tell us all about funding climate change and defunding the police. Aren't they all so brilliant. If they were confronted by a criminal, they would be sniveling little crybabies.

Donald Trump is not a politician, he is a leader, politicians are a dime a dozen, leaders are priceless.

Talking about, and actually doing it, defunding the police during riots in American cities. These damned leftist are brilliant.

Of course it's deliberate though. They need to tear down society in order to implement their socialist ideals. Never in history have these extreme leftist governments come into power through peace. It has always taken force and violence. People must be whipped into the marxist cage. We're in the fight now, and ridding society of the police is always the first step.

That's their problem. They have their order of operations backwards. Disarming the population is the first step, and they skipped it. They can get rid of as many police as they wish, but it will be difficult to assume power through force and violence when the other side can bring it on an unimaginable scale to counter it.

^^^ Well yes indeed. That is true. That Constitution always seems to get in their way. It confounds them. We are unique in that way. God bless the 2nd amendment and our forefathers who had the wisdom to recognize it in the founding of this nation.

Guess who is their personal security? Off duty officers or former Police. Fucking morons. Yeah let’s defund the Police and let anarchy reign.

Look up Chris Martin Palmer, an NBA reporter, who tweeted out initially to burn it all down...until it got too close to his gated community...then they became “animals” and, of course, all was fine because security was called it...he was all for the rioting...as long as it stayed in downtown LA and not his posh community.

What a fucking hypocrite. Let's ban social media first. Get that done, no more fakebook, instacrap, snap crap, and twatter. If it takes taking down you boob, good. Cancel it all first then we can discuss the Police. Until then all these people can fuck off. Or let's go wild wild west with it, because only the strong will survive Wink

It is always about seizing power with progressives and I think you are right. As for the ramifications...look the bias in the investigations on Russia and imagine that on a national scale at the local level.

That was before mail in ballots. I'm not sure what can be done to stop it, but they are going to try to steal the election in broad daylight. If it isn't stopped they just might because all these swing states are going to be close.

I think some of these celebrities need to take the vacation of a lifetime where there is NO police presence. It is certainly exciting. We could tape it and make it into a regular TV show. I would watch. Much better than Survivor.

Why is it that long time Democrat controlled cities with Democrat mayors and Democrat city councils in Democrat states with Democrat governors and Democrat senators have such a problem with racist police? If they know they have a problem - and they are all grandstanding about how big the problem is - why haven't they fixed it?

Jump on the bandwagon to get some press.

Just like after the Baltimore riots...

quote:
In a vacant rowhouse down the street from where Freddie Gray was arrested five years ago, in the wake of the rioting that erupted after his death of injuries suffered in police custody, Tubman House was born.

Meant to provide a gathering space and fresh produce for its Sandtown-Winchester neighbors, it was among a host of initiatives large and small, governmental and community-based, that emerged in response to the unrest like the green shoots now poking through the soil of the house’s garden.

Everyone, it seemed, wanted to address what they saw as the root causes of the fury — from issues of policing and criminal justice to inequities in education and jobs to the grinding poverty that underlies it all.

“People rushed in, only to leave a short time later,” said Dominique Conway, who founded the house.

The result?

Baltimore Residents Blaming Murder Increase on Lack of Police After BLM Protesters Demanded Pullback.

Black American residents of Baltimore, Maryland, are now blaming a lower police presence for the city’s soaring murder rate despite three years of Black Lives Matter (BLM) activists insisting that police be pulled from their neighborhoods.

Baltimore has now experienced higher murder rates for three years in a row after riots and BLM-sponsored protests began rocking the city after the death of Freddie Gray, a suspect who died in police custody in the spring of 2015, National Public Radio (NPR) reported.

Four pages and the one name where this all started has not been mentioned.

“Minneapolis City Council” is what they are saying now. Let’s get to the specific city council member, “Jeremiah Ellison”.

feersum dreadnaught, can you shrink that graphic just a weee bit.
It is HUGE when viewed on an i-Pad.

It is only a matter of whether the city councils do it intentionally or if happens due to lack of tax revenue.

This is the Detroit model. The area becomes unsafe, and people with a choice on where to live leave, causing a crash in property values, a bunch of foreclosed non tax revenue generating properties become eyesores, accelerating the effect, and more people leave.

As this happens, the revenue sources for the local government dry up, and the police (along with everything else) are defunded. Detroit is so broke DPD cant afford gas for patrol cars at sometimes.

I actually agree with defunding your police department if you want to destroy your city. the alternative model (Baltimore) where you just incentivize the cops to stop working and continue to pay them is much more expensive and ends at the same result.

It's a big country, if some cities want to self destruct, the people who enjoy that will self select to participate and everyone else can move elsewhere. People get the government they want, it's all part of living in a democracy.

This started before COVID-19 and the latest riots.

There were 80 million Baby Boomers, 60 million Gen X'ers, 73 million Millenials and 65 million Gen Z'ers.

The Boomers moved out of the cities to start families and the cities declined because there were not enough Gen X'ers to replace them. The Millenials graduated college and thought the cities were cool and hip so the cities (except for ones like Baltimore which weren't cool enough) started to have a renaissance.

The Millenials started moving out of the cities several years ago and there are not enough Gen Z-ers to replace them. COVID-19 and these riots will just accelerate that. Now add to that companies that realize they don't need to pay for all the real estate when their employees are working fine from home and the cities are getting ready to crumble.

Many cities rely on a hotel and food tax to fund their social programs. Travel is way down to cities like NY City and others so the funds are drying up. After 9/11 many businesses found that having a NYC address was not necessary and never left their temp relocation sites.

For all the "free stuff" AOC and the other promise, they have to find a means to fund them. How receptive do you think all those now voicing suppoirt will be when they get hit with huge tax increases?

No Shawn, not accurately, they are just running the worst cities. The cities with the worse crimes rates and most homicides. For the most part, police brutality is any attempt to stop the crimes. Hoe receptive to an arrest for homicides, robbery and other violent crimes do you think the suspects are? They react violently, Putting their hands behind their backs quietly is TV show craop.

They also run the cities in the worst financial shape. any wonder they are loomking to deflect. Every thing else they have tried is blowing up in their face.

Don't interrupt the enemy when they are making mistakes.

I will wholeheartedly support democrats and blue state legislators in these attempts.

Cops are already depolicing in these neighborhoods. Cops are already trying to decide how they will survive in these environments and the only answer they can come up with is to do as little as possible. I think if we sit wait and listen we might be begin to hear the sound of crime increasing...
