Sheriff Joseph Lombardo of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department appeared to be visibly shaken when told reporters Friday that he wasn’t attempting to be “subversive” in previous statements he made surrounding details of the October 1 massacre at the Route 91 Music Festival where 58 people lost their lives.

In the ‘no questions’ conference, which members of the independent media were not allowed to attend, the sheriff said that he’s “well aware” of the timeline dispute released by MGM Management on Thursday which claims that Stephen Paddock fired his weapon into the crowd just seconds after Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos was struck by a bullet in the 32nd-floor hallway outside the shooter’s end suite.

The visibly nervous sheriff also made clear that “there is no conspiracy between the FBI, LVMPD, or the MGM” and that “nobody is attempting to hide anything” in reference to the investigation and noted his solidarity with the FBI.

“We are standing hand-in-hand with the FBI in the continuance of this investigation,” the sheriff explained.

“I feel confident that there are no other individuals that are intending to cause harm to our community associated with the 1 October event.”

Sheriff Lombardo also provided an explanation for changes he recently made to the publicly released timeline surrounding Paddock’s arrival to Vegas and his check-in date at the Mandalay Bay.

“We have come to learn that the suspect did occupy the room on the 25th and the situation on how the room was compensated or paid for had changed on the 28th to include Marilou Danley,” he explained.

Additionally, the sheriff told reporters that so far there has only been a “visual inspection” done of Paddock’s brain and said that Paddock’s brain was shipped to a facility that will conduct a “microscopic analysis of the brain” to see if there were any signs of mental illness.

As of yet, authorities admit that they still have no motive for Paddock’s crimes and maintain that he has no affiliation with any groups.

At one point a reporter tried to sneak a question in but was quickly swatted down by Lombardo over the podium mic.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Actually Anne isnt entirely correct. There are machines that pay over 100% some up to 103%. Theyre tough to find in vegas and there are usually only 1-3 machines in vegas. You can also take advantage of progressive payouts once they hit a certain level. I read a book on it by a guy who designed the things and code.

Where Anne is correct is that he most likely didnt become a millionaire doing it. The $5 $10 machines usually dont have the decent payouts. The best ive seen online is 80k a year a year with a best of 135k a year. Playing 40-60 hours a week. At 101-103% return odds youre basically just grinding it out and it does become work. According to the book a pro video poker player should be able to play 1000 hands an hour making the perfevt statistical play each time.

Wasnt it reported that paddock had income properties? Seems simple enough to earn millions that way.

She's also wrong that casinos don't comp winners. They comp them all the time to keep them from taking the winnings to a competitive property and losing them back, there.

They claim Paddock had at least two video cameras recording the event.. How would this not provide an exact time line,?

Easy, the timestamps could have been turned off, or maybe they weren't recording - just live feeds. Has it been confirmed that his cameras were definitely recording?

Who said they were recording? I'm betting they were just live feeds.

Been confirmed? I'm surprised they got his name right let alone confirming a detail like that.

You are probably right. But then again,so what. It happens in some cases. It doesn't mean that the investigative agency is incompetent. It simply means that in cases are unsolvable or at least do not come to a conclusion that satifies the general public. IMHO we already know who did it and why.

Las Vegas was built for the express purpose of laundering money. You don't just launder for yourself. Some people are "cleaners". People who take dirty money, run it through certain types of businesses get the taxes paid on it.

Ironically, the money paid to the "cleaner" sometimes needs to be relaundered.

Oooh, that's a great opening for your short story, "The Cleaner".

You know, he's kind of a Robert McCall from The Equalizer meets Newman from Seinfeld, a true operator with an everyman's identity. Helps The Cleaner get in under the radar.

Opening shot, a rack zoom of The Sands.

The only reason "why" is important, is to ensure all crimes and people who are involved criminally can be dealt with.

No other reason truly matters.

Brain tumor, pissed off, pissed on, hungry, batshit crazy, someone took the last donut with Jimmies, anything, and like you said, somethings are unsolvable, because to only people who often know the "real story" are dead.

It is so liberating to understand that the "machine we know as the universe" is cold and heartless, and we have no power over it.

We are an infinitesimal bit f matter in the face of it.
Once one accepts that, you stop waisting energy trying to control the universe, or get it to tell you what you think you need to know.

So, enjoy the ride and don't be an asshole along the way.

Actually, that is a better plotline and show idea than anything currently on the four main networks and the cable networks.

Jesus Campos, the Mandalay Bay security guard who first encountered mass shooter Stephen Paddock, vanished Thursday afternoon hours before planned interviews with five TV networks, his union president said Friday.

“The union doesn’t have any idea where he’s at at this time,” said David Hickey, international president of the International Union, Security, Police and Fire Professionals of America, which represents security guards at Mandalay Bay.

Hickey said he had been with Campos for the last four days, along with another union member, helping him prepare for media interviews. He said Campos was staying in a Las Vegas-area hotel suite, with a living room and an adjoining bedroom.

On Thursday at about 1 p.m., Hickey said he and the union’s local president took a meeting with MGM officials in the bedroom, while Campos, the other union member and a security guard hired by MGM to protect Campos waited in the living room.

At 2 p.m., when Hickey emerged from the meeting, he said Campos and the other people were gone.

Hickey said he called and texted the other union member. The only response he received is that Campos was being taken to a Quick Care health clinic.

Since then, he indicated Friday afternoon, he has heard nothing about the trio’s whereabouts.

“It’s a strange story,” Hickey said. “But it is what it is.”

Hickey said he is not concerned for Campos’ safety, just his health. When asked if he thought MGM had anything to do with Campos’ disappearance, Hickey simply noted that the corporation was taking care of him.

In a statement, MGM Resorts International said it had nothing to do with the cancellation.

“Jesus Campos is a hero who has been credited with saving lives and being a part of interrupting a shooting rampage. MGM Resorts could not be more proud of him,” it said. “The notion that we are in any way preventing him from telling his story is absurd. When it comes to media appearances by Jesus, our only concern has been and will continue to be Jesus.”

Are we talking "take care of him" in the Mafia sense, or...?
