The news report I saw said Amazon's average payout to a charity was about $250. So the cost of doing that must be very high. They could have done like United Way used to do, have a limited number of charities, but that would undoubtedly have become very political. It cost them... $0.5% of each applicable order. All US charities combined have received $400,026,236 with a bit more sent overseas. ~90 bucks of that were on my behalf from 352 orders. If things changed, things would be different. | |||
