Thank you Very little |
That dude in the Toyota looked stoned, the way he drove for a quarter mile before stopping with the motorcyclist on the trunk might be an indication that he was high considering he didn't even realize he'd been the cause of an accident, The guy on the bike was lucky the way it happened not getting run over from behind and landing on the trunk... Motorcyclist was a lot nicer to that imbecile than I would have been. Jagoff probably had his "music" on so loud he couldn't hear the impact.

Motorcycle has one passenger and is speeding into slowing traffic in a lane that requires two passengers per vehicle. There's plenty of fault to go around here. __________________________________________________________________ Beware the man who has one gun because he probably knows how to use it.

"Motorcycles are allowed in the HOV lanes," said Sgt. Terry Liu, express lane supervisor for the CHP in Los Angeles County. They are not required to have any "clean air vehicle" stickers or to be carrying passengers, and there is no stipulation on what time of day or night they use the lanes.

Old, Slow, but Lucky! |
Cool your jets, Deadeye!!! There are many states that allow motorcycles in the restricted "HOV" lane, Washington State being among them. The cyclist appears to be blameless in this incident. _______________________ Living the Dream... One Day at a Time.

Motorcycles are allowed in these lanes, at least here in GA. You are not supposed to enter or exit these lanes with solid lines

In the yahd, not too fah from the cah |
Motorcycles are generally allowed in carpool lanes.

Still finding my way |
Riding a motorcycle on a busy highway like that is like wearing a Trump shirt to a BLM rally. Sure, you are withing your rights to do so but is it the smartest choice?

Funny Man |
Every HOV lane I have ever seen allows motorcycles any time with no passenger requirements. ______________________________ “I'd like to know why well-educated idiots keep apologizing for lazy and complaining people who think the world owes them a living.” ― John Wayne

My mistake about motorcycles allowed in the HOV lanes and I didn't see the solid yellow line either. 100% on the driver of the car. __________________________________________________________________ Beware the man who has one gun because he probably knows how to use it.

Deadeye needs new glasses LOL, Carpool lanes are approved for motorcycle use, and the bike looks to be flowing with traffic for the first 15 seconds of the video, the reason it looks quicker after that is the lanes next to it are slowing down. HOV lanes are there to keep people moving it doesn't slow down. Notice at 15 seconds the Toyota is two lanes over and cuts off a car in the lane next to the HOV lane, you can see it move in front and the car it cuts off hit the brake lights, the Toyota Driver cut over two lanes without looking into the HOV lane to get out of quickly slowing traffic. Clear as day the only fault lies with the Toyota driver, open it in utoob and full screen the video and it becomes apparent what happened.

Looks like he crossed over the solid white line also which means no break in California. I can't stand people who jump in and out of the HOV lane over solid white lines. Lots of potential for accidents.

Drill Here, Drill Now |
I lived in SoCal for 3 years. As arfmel posted, motorcycles are allowed in HOV lanes in California's highways. One of the many downsides to HOV lanes with only a painted yellow line(s) separating from regular traffic is that dipshits routinely illegally switch across the yellow line into the HOV lanes. A frustrating amount seemingly do not use their mirrors. I drove a full-size Silverado, and stood on the brakes on multiple occasions when the rectal itches would abruptly and illegally cross over into the HOV lane. from his reaction, yeah, he was high. It looked like he didn't really know what was happening. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. High standards, low expectations |
That kid is one spaced out fuck. Motorcycle is going quite a bit faster than other traffic - yes, he should expect that he has free passage, but I don't trust anyone to follow the rules. I also would have been riding in the left side of that lane to put me farther away from a car that tries to occupy the same lane as myself. For LA, that's not very busy at all. And I don't ride motorcycles myself either. The car was completely at fault here. The one reassuring thing about my newest bike is that you can hear it from three blocks away. You would have to be absolutely stoned out of your mind not to know I was riding my R1 near you, it is ungodly loud. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

Back, and to the left |
The way the kid just rolled his window down and, I think, left his car in gear, would have really irked me. I kept waiting for him to speed off.

As Extraordinary as Everyone Else |
While the car driver was clearly at fault the speed of the motorcycle seemed pretty high and the fact that he didn't even lock up the brakes (or didn't appear to) has me wondering if he didn't do everything he could have as well. Having been in three different accidents like this when I drove my bike I am speaking from experience. It is also why I don't drive one now! ------------------ Eddie Our Founding Fathers were men who understood that the right thing is not necessarily the written thing. -kkina
