Kinda miss the 70s. Although "disco sucks," dinna mind ABBA. It was a much more simple era. Heck, got a soft spot for Heart.

“I Will Survive” (Gloria Gaynor) was maybe the best product of the disco era.

So, brother, are the books done? Wink

Me? Every chance to drive alone, there is a Who CD at absolutely the highest volume possible playing with me often times singing along recalling being at concerts. Amongst all the choices, 'Live at Leeds' is prolly the fav for playing at max volume.

Ya oughta see the mirrors shake from the sound pressure Big Grin

Books are done. Invoices printed. I think we enjoy the same music at the same volume. Do you also speed while so inspired? Big Grin

Most fun I ever had driving was eastward across Texas at night. There hung a low fog about 6 ft above the ground such that everything 6 ft and under was perfectly visible. Led Zep on the stereo of my 68 Firebird breaking the speed limit by double and racing through the tunnel. Looked weird and cool. Drove like that quite a distance. That was back before traffic violations were computerized.

Chiquitita, as mentioned earlier, was a popular song. I remember seeing a concert show - looked it up. In 1979, there was a show called "The Music for UNICEF Concert".

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0329115/

There were performances from multiple performers. After performing a song, they would go to the edge of the stage and sign paperwork that would then assign a percentage of any revenue of that song to UNICEF. ABBA gave 50% of the revenue initially. In 2014, ABBA agreed that 100% of the revenue from that song would be given to UNICEF from that point forward.

In one of my early jobs (in TV and stereo sales for a nationwide store chain), I used to keep a cassette of Dancing Queen handy as it would show off the speakers on a couple of systems well.

I would only listen to ABBA if I was stuck on Mars....

Im not judging by the way.

If I had been old enough to be in the discos - who knows.

I’m betting Angel Flight pants are coming back. Got a whole closet full of them. Might need to tailor them a little by now…

I was late in joining the ABBA fanboys. Busy with family/career/life/etc had only caught a few of the songs very randomly.

Was properly introduced to 'Fernando' by my #2 son about 2001 or so. He had quite a story involving his grad year in Barcelona and a young lady singing it to him in Spanish. Amazed at what I had been missing. Many of their songs remain incredibly enjoyable for me.

I was in high school in the mid/late 70's, and working my first radio gig. That said, the disco era is still fun for me. And ABBA/Dancing Queen is one of my faves in the pop format. Having a crush on a 17 year old at the time might have had something to do with it...
