Mountain biking with my girlfriend and watching her skills and stamina improve. Calling a couple of buddies and they came along a couple of times, as a result we really had alot of fun.

My friends late summer knee surgery went well, hoping to mountain bike this coming weekend with him in the fall colors in Alma.

The watermelons were pretty good this year but I have never returned a bad one. Seems like it would be a messy affair for a couple of bucks.

We also spent a lot of time with our granddaughter which is always a good thing.

After lots of talk I finally went fishing in eastern Washington with my father for a week. It got warm, but that makes for large bass.

The best part of my summer of 2018 has to be the hiking trip my son and I took to Isle Royale national park for his senior trip as I posted about here:

Hiking Isle Royale 2018

No need to go into any detail but on this trip we spent some awesome time together on a unique special place, checking off several bucket list items and challenging ourselves. I would love to go back while I am still young enough to enjoy it.

I had to help fly some clients up to King Salmon. While there I was "forced" to do some fishing along with the other pilot. We had a "miserable" time of it...Not. A real blast to be able to catch some wonderful fish. We each brought back 50 lbs to dine on as well.

I also accidentally caught my biggest rainbow ever.

Took my 2 boys to their first concert, Imagine Dragons at Red Rocks. Bought a competition wakeboard boat. Probably won't get it out on the water until Spring, but that's fine. Bit of a "mechanic special".

Situation awareness is defined as a continuous extraction of environmental information, integration of this information with previous knowledge to form a coherent mental picture in directing further perception and anticipating future events. Simply put, situational awareness mean knowing what is going on around you.

Got my CA drivers license renewed. At my age, I have to pass a written test for renewal. Spent many hours cramming. Missed one (of 16) questions – could’ve missed three and passed. And I got the REAL ID version of the license. Required for domestic commercial flights as of 2020 – or a current passport, which I don’t have.

And got a new 2018 Hyundai Sonata Limited. Lots of neat features that my 2012 Sonata didn’t have.

California Golden Trout. Not native to my state but they stocked them in some very pretty high mountain lakes here in Utah. They are the only Californians we really want coming here Wink

The best part of my 2018 summer was the two weeks I spent at a oceanfront beach house in southern shores NC (outer banks). Man I really hope that house is still there next week. It’s been there since the 1940’s but just in the few years I’ve gone there it’s lost over 50% if it’s protective sand dune. Frown

Well, considering that my wife is going through chemo, the high points were two concerts. The Eagles were fantastic, as was Toby Keith. My wife was able to attend both, so I am extremely thankful.
