I went on 2 good trips this summer: with the Adult Choir of my church to Spain and Portugal in May and June, and then to the Parks in northern California in August. Took lots of pictures:

My highlight was going prairie dogging out West with my 14 y/o Son. We went mid June, doggies galore. It was his 1st time, my 3rd.

He had a great time, as did I. Hopefully we’ll make it an annual event for a few years. Now it’s time to reload a few 100 cases.

We did an early spring break ski trip, so we were pretty tapped out for the summer. Just lots of pool time and a short 2 day beach trip.

Every single week since March 16, we spent at least one day of our weekend on various lakes in our new pontoon boat with friends and family. Lots of BBQ, drinkin', swimmin', tubin', fishin', and just hanging out together. Quality time indeed. The sunsets are gorgeous over the water.

Still have a few weeks of summer left here in TX, so we are headed out again on Thursday.

Lots of time spent with my son, several great weather weekends by the pool, an awesome Florida vacation, several good cookouts/pool parties. It was a great Summer at our house.

First, that I’m still here. I think God for that.

Best thing after being alive, NFL has started and our legendary summer heat is on the way out. I was trimming my palms a month ago and it was 107 out. So the temps are starting to drop and the NFL has started. For me that means my Sunday motorcycle rides are the best of the entire year. All the football fanatics are glued to their couches so I have my twisty roads to myself, in conjunction with great temps. Love September and October, my favorite two months due to temps, lower wind speeds, and the horde is cleared out.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

Hard to pick one thing. The trip to Hilton Head stands out as memorable with lots of outstanding restaurants, golf at Harbortown, good fishing and many hours with family biking and playing on the beach. I love summer, and hate to see Fall come. Fall generally gives me the creeping dreads that winter is coming. I hate winter.

It’s a toss up.

Either it was the three week security detail I spent from mid June to early July in Hawaii at Kiluwea (got to experience a magnitude 5.3 quake every day, and awesome weather and scenery), or the week long family vacation at Ocean City (swimming in the ocean every day, also great weather and time with the fam). Impossible to choose.

I've spent a good bit of time with family and friends this summer, a vast improvement over last summer.

I'm not looking forward to winter, but today's fall-like temperatures have felt nice.

God bless America.

Growing up, I spent many summer days at the pool with my best friend. Now, these days, that same best friend has a pool, and I spent a lot of days this summer hanging out at his pool, much like old times, except now our children are the ones making all the ruckus in the pool. Watching our kids playing as friends, and playing with them, sure is heartwarming, tons of fun, and makes me feel like a kid again!

We also got just got back from a fantastic family vacation to Charleston. Building sandcastles with my little girl was awesome! Lots of good food, and good times with my family and cousins.

A relaxing vacation with my family to the Grand Haven/Holland/Muskegon area of Michigan. Neat country and such nice places and people.

Told my wife we may just have to retire there.
