The aerial they were showing on TV last night showed Aru launching his attack from behind and to the right of Froome when Froome raised his hand. Aru had to literally duck under Froome's raised arm to go by him. From the footage they were showing, it's almost inconceivable that he didn't see the arm. J Rak Chazak Amats | |||

The best that I can piece together, the front view showed Froome signaling a second time. He first put his hand up when Aru was behind him, put it down after Aru attacked, then put it back up. Kittel won the sprint finish of today's stage 11. All of the top sprinters, and all of the top GC contenders, finished with the same official time as Kittel, but his win padded his green jersey margin, now 133 points over Matthews. I'm thinking tomorrow is going to be the day for someone to challenge Froome. Long stage, tough climbs and a mountain top finish. It's either that or stage 18 next Thursday. I'm a little disappointed with the lack of time trailing this year. Two short stages, 36.5 KM total. ----------------------------------- | |||

Bought my first Pinarello in 1979 and had the luck to live in Palo Alto from 78 thru 95. I rode with many great riders back in the day. LOVE the mountains and love the stage coming up tomorrow morning! Viva Le Tour! | |||

While I was living in St. Paul, MN, I saw a February Biycling magazine cover that showed a bunch of riders in the Bay Area. Lordy, I was envious! In St. Paul, decent cycling weather didn't come until late April. And even then I had to contend with piles of sand at intersections, still present from the winter salt and sanding operations. Romain Bardet won today's stage 12 climbers contest. Aru was third, good enough to take the yellow jersey from Froome. Aru's 6s margin might not be enough to keep it through the Marseille time trial. Froome beat him by 40s in the stage 1 time trial. Tomorrow's climbers stage is Bastille Day, so the French riders will be making a special effort. Bardet in particular. Serious about crackers | |||

Warren Barguil won today's mountainous stage 13 today. A nice win for the Frenchman on Bastille day. Quintana and Contador finished with the same official time as Barguil. But, whoa! Both Aru and Froome were 1' 48" back. Despite that, Aru retains the yellow jersey, with Froome 6" back. I guess Aru and Froome didn't try too hard, knowing that they had good leads over the stage winners. Serious about crackers | |||

Sorry guys, I'm a little behind. On stage 12 it looked to me like Froome and Aru cracked at the same time, But Bardet was the carrot that Aru needed to attack. I'm amazed that final 20% drag is a runway.  Today was some real racing. All the top guys were gassed, and the lower GC guys attacked like sharks. I'm really liking Dan Martin. Fast as hell, tough has nails and measured in his remarks, classy guy. ----------------------------------- | |||

Michael Matthews won today's stage 14. Froome was 1" back in 7th place, 24" clear of Aru. Consequently, Froome regained the yellow jersey, with an 18" lead over Aru, second overall. <“He just didn’t stay on my wheel so it’s hard to keep him at the front,” Aru’s Astana teammate Michael Valgren said.> Kind of slamming his team leader I think.  Kittel (373 points) retains the green jersey, 99 points ahead of Matthews, in second place. Serious about crackers | |||

Bauke Mollema won today's hilly stage 15 today. Froome, Aru, Bardet, and Urán all finished with the same time, 6' 25" back. The top four GC places are unchanged with Froome on top. Warren Barguil retains his big green jersey lead. Tomorrow is a rest day. Serious about crackers | |||
