This just popped up in my yootoob feed. The guy narrating the video says that the ATF uses an app to digitally capture the content and filter what they want to copy.
As the guy states, how is this not creating a gun registry?
Would like to hear from FFL dealers on your experiences.

I have no doubt that this is exactly that. I believe that any scanned material will never leave the server.

Just more evidence the ATF is a criminal organization that operates with almost complete immunity. Rogue doesn't even begin to cover it. It does however make me very glad that the majority of my current guns were all FTF transactions, with no paper trail following them.

When an FFL goes out of business...all of the 4473s are turned in to the ATF, whom then uses their industrial size scanner to scan everything into their database. They've been doing this for years.

You're leaving out a key part of that- until this year, an FFL was required to retain 4473s for a period of twenty years, and if the FFL was still active, the licensee could then destroy those records. The "send the records to the government" stuff applied only within that twenty year period. The whole idea was somewhere, someone would have a record of these transactions for two decades, and that is all.
So, yes, something has changed, for the worse, and as far as I'm concerned it's illegal, not to mention, none of their fucking business. You read it right: none of their business, though you could never convince the ATF of this. A law-abiding citizen passing all checks to purchase a firearm should face no further scrutiny, no prying by the Goddamned incompetent leftist Feds.
In all sincerity, I say to you that it doesn't matter. Having a list means nothing unless they intend to use it to attempt to attempt widespread confiscation, in which case they will be making an indescribably bad decision.
The yootoober just followed up with another video identifying the agent - just her name. Not going to post that here but he's asking ppl to file a complaint with the ATF on her.
You know the crazies will craze with that information.

Although we only have the one incident recorded, I gotta believe this practice is commonly being used by other ATF agents. Especially if they have an app for this illegal practice and .gov issued phones
With the midterm elections coming up fast, now would be a dandy time to contact your elected reps., especially those running for re-election, and let them know about this incident, and that your support is contingent upon them leaning forward on this issue, and demanding coordinated efforts to send signed inquiries to the ATF and demanding Congressional hearings be held.
I'll be crafting letters to my rep. this weekend.

Having been to an auction recently… I expect a knock, and everybody has instructions.
FWIW - There is no way I’m walking to the door with a fully assembled firearm.
I’m interested in what other people think they would do in this situation. I have some special circumstances that trigger an extra level of FFL scrutiny… All the legal - just tier one FFL can’t see me. I’m sure others here can relate.

I am certain this is common practice in the ATF.
You know how it is- the rules never apply to true believers. The law doesn't matter because it just gets in the way of their righteous cause.

Easy. Ya have a warrant? I'll comply, otherwise, if you aren't a good looking blonde here to blow me, hit the bricks. I'm not personally going to deal with these criminals at all unless forced to.
