Hospice is wonderful in this situation. Been through it with my mother and sister as a family member. And of course had many patients who ended up in hospice. I’ve gone to patients’ homes to turn off defibrillators and pacemakers so they could go in peace.

YOu've been a wonderful son for your Dad, and now will be for your Mom as well. God bless you, Mike. Yes, that's going to be some trip.

Liner, I haven't posted, but I read and I was praying.

My dad was hale and hearty, and a fighter too, until the last 3 years of his life. I know how it has hurt for you to watch your dad go down. I know you are hurting and you miss him.

I will be praying for God's Holy Spirit to surround and comfort you and your family with His love.

Liner, you can be proud of the way you handled the situation. It is a less than fun situation that you can look back and think I did the best I could. Sorry you had to go through that.

Thanks for the condolences.

I got his obituary done yesterday. It's tough to capture a life like dads in a few paragraphs. https://www.cartmelldavis.com/...-Leary?obId=41773261

I’m so sorry, Liner. My deepest sympathies to your family. The obituary reflects on a life well-lived.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

"The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth."

Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.
