Here's what I want: A clutch pedal, a stick, an AM radio (maybe a cassette or 8-track player) and a dimmer switch on the floor. I also want to be able to climb into the engine compartent (that I can see the ground through) and fix anything in there with some black tape, tie wire, and a crescent wrench.

Ahhh....the old days....

And, I want to spend no more than $3-5000 on it.

If we are compiling our lists from Toyota here is my request.

Base Land Cruiser, triple locked, manual transmission, cloth seats, no carpet, no automatic height control, no frills, no crap, no “packages”.
Back up camera is nice but not needed. A simple stereo setup that can be swapped out with a standard double din unit, with simple wiring harness, no HVAC controls or anything else tied into the unit.
For around 40K.

Read today there wont be a V8 model Land Cruiser offered in the future. The 6 cylinder will be standard due to fuel economy and the O zone. I didnt know it came with a V8. Im sure its not the 5.7 litre. I still like the Sienna and that full size van they make.

I don't see the value in Apple Car play over a BT enabled connection that works the phone, text, etc.

Wifes MKC has it, and the damn software pops up everytime you plug in a phone even if you just want to charge your phone and it takes over the infotainment system. You have to get to the home page to select the climate controls, radio etc.

I don't need Apple running everything all the time. So we disabled the car play auto start up and it's been great. If we need Apples GPS/Waze then we'll pop over to Car Play.

Other than that it wouldn't be my top reason to buy a vehicle, BT, hands free all that is necessary today.

Heck it probably saved them $1200 off the MSRP with Toyota not having to pay Apple a license fee. LOL

My wife had one of those when I met her in 1974.

There she was, driving along, minding her own business, when the rear window (the window in the tailgate) decided that it would be a good idea to shatter into a bazillion pieces.

Cool. Glad I could help. Customizing and tricking out anything to get it the way you want it and then comparing it to a stock vehicle from some other manufacturer seemed like apples and oranges.

If I had a Roush Stage III kit added to a Mustang, it would be faster than any stock Camaro. Get the ACR and it'll be faster than both on the track and the street. Comparing the ACR to a stock Camaro wouldn't make any sense.

Cheers!

While we’re on the subject of things that don’t make sense....there’s your response. What are you talking about? The post I responded to was talking about things that can and can’t be put into factory vehicles. Whom did I compare myself to??
