I am guessing Trump is spending some political capital to take advantage of his un-predictability, to win the bluff. He is going all-in, and he wants to break Kim Jong Un's bluster. It all comes down to "Do ya feel lucky, punk" I think we will prevail, with China's help. We are making it worth their while to finally step up their game. Trump is projecting unpredictability, and it might just work. Trump is a deal-maker and he will back off the China currency manipulation accusation, to achieve his coordinated goals in NK. I think this was his plan all along. Make inflammatory accusations and re-negotiate to meed in the middle for mutual benefit. Trump thinks several moves ahead. Too bad he orders his steaks and burgers MW or Well. What a waste. I imagine he uses A-1 to cover up the wood-fire seared Prime New Your York aged

I'd go with "bluster" as well. While the crazy fat kid may have a nuke, there's a high probability it wouldn't detonate even IF it could be delivered to a viable target area. And the likelihood he could place it on target is quite low as well. Heck, even if he loaded it onto one of his old Soviet reject surplus submarines and sent it to Hawaii, I doubt it could make it outside the Nork territorial waters before it sank. And that's without us even taking a shot at it. _______________________ “The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. I heard on radio, yesterday, some in his higher up military still call him a insane baby. He is not worshipped by them all. Maybe they will fix their own problem. Maybe China will send in a Otter, (Seal) team.

He is a psychopath. Plain and simple. They do not follow him out of reverence, they follow him because to not do so is a death sentence. Same with the millions of malnourished citizens. The pisser about this whole thing is South Korea. They are screwed win or lose. Not if, but when the North falls, millions of Norks will flood south seeking a better life and completely overwhelm them. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." If past history holds true, little Kim wants some more money (hookers/blow?). As said, mainland China probably wants their yapping puppy to STFU, so they may keep him leashed up. Which probably leads the US toward making some 'nice' with them. Troubling at best. The effect he's having on others is probably more worrisome than anything else. ———- Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for thou art crunchy and taste good with catsup.

If they ever tried to launch a nuke large enough to do damage, it would land a few hundred feet away from the launch site. They can shoot ballistic missiles all they want but I guarantee they aren't carrying a payload. IMO, China is too pragmatic to let the NorKs do anything too rash. If ANYBODY pops off a nuke over there, the global economy will tank (and China's along with it). For NOW, at least, I believe China is more interested in maintaining the status quo and with keeping their economy humming along (same reason they haven't done anything with Taiwan or the Spratley Islands). If/when that situation changes, then we have real reason to be concerned. . . China has too much to lose if 'Lil Kim does something stupid militarily. I'm sure they have an 'arrangement' that China will provide cover for the NorKs, IF, and ONLY IF the NorKs stay within a certain framework. For the past 60 years, they have been keeping South Korea, Japan, AND the US off-balance. This is in China's best interests. Fear God and Dread Nought Admiral of the Fleet Sir Jacky Fisher

From what I've read, North Korea has thousands of artillery pieces in caves/bunkers dialed in or Seoul. In a single hour, they could put millions of rounds downtown, effectively obliterating the South Korean capital. This is the NorKs' 'insurance policy' that keeps the allies from making a first move. Any such first move would guarantee the destruction of the capital (maybe this is a good reason that you shouldn't establish ANY major city, ESPECIALLY your political and economic capital, within arty range of a homicidal adversary? ). Even if we launched a pre-emptive strike on their arty, we would never get enough of them before they killed thousands and made Seoul uninhabitable. Maybe true, but how many rounds can they get off in the 20 minute flight time of one of our ICBMs? As I recall, they carry ten MIRVs. We would NEVER pre-emptively nuke North Korea. All that fallout would follow prevailing wind patterns, and drift in a general easterly direction; right over parts of South Korea and Japan. Fear God and Dread Nought Admiral of the Fleet Sir Jacky Fisher
